I live in Phoenix AZ were weather can get extremely hot. I am planning on doing my first oil change this weekend. Do I use ow20 like the oil cap suggests or ow30 I’m a bit confused. Thank you for advice and help :)

Also is there any specific oil filter brand that should be bought or recommended?

Your cap says 0w20? On your 2008? My gen2 oil caps have 5w30 on them.

Any quality filter from a parts supplier will be good. I use the OEM Toyota filter, costs $3.50 if I buy in bulk

From my memory it does I will have to check it in a couple hours when I get off work but I’m pretty sure that was what it said on the cap

    5-30.

It takes exactly 3.6 quarts with a new filter. Buy 5 quart jug Mobil one at Walmart for $25 and oem filter for $4.50.
Over 2 jugs you then have a free oil change if diy.

If some service is doing it like jiffy lube pour out 1.5 quarts of that jug and give that to them do they can’t mess it up. Ditto the dealer.
Jiffy’s database shows G2 takes 5 quarts so be careful with those idiots.
