I stumbled across this site while looking for some info on Siruis vs XM transmission frequencies. It has a lot of general charts and conversions, but also a lot of automotive info. Just thought it might be of interest to the group.

    Here it is: http://www.csgnetwork.com/automotiveconverters.html

It's missing the one we need most: MPG[US/IMP] <=> L/100 Km

Thanks Sprett! That's exactly what I wanted, and more! Bo Johansson has done us a great favor. I've bookmarked the URL so I can figure out what kind of Fuel Economy people are getting in Canada, Europe, Britain, Australia, and Sweden, of course!

It was also fun because my randomly assigned Oregon state license plate is 339 BTU. That is equivalent to about 85.4 food calories (kcal) or a small apple... just under a hundred watthours. Of course, every second in in my Silver Cloud it has almost 480 US horsepower/486 metric horsepower, or almost 358 kilowatts (339 BTU/second). :)

    Thanks again!

Thank you for that link. I'm an ancient Canadian and I find the use of L/100km disgusting. Wish I could change that in our Prius somehow other than trading it in for a US model.
Oh, by the way, did you find the Sirius vs XM transmission freq info?

I don't understand why everyone doesn't just use Google. Google can convert *anything* to *anything*. Want to know how many cubic cubits in a gallon? Just type "cubic cubits in a gallon" into Google and you get:

    1 US gallon = 0.0396090537 cubic cubits

Want to know what 50 MPG is in L/100Km, just type into Google, "50 MPG in L/100KM" and it returns:

    50 miles per gallon = 4.70429169 l/100km

    Google is the internet. :)

EDIT: And for all you Simpsons fans out there, 80 (furlongs / hogshead) = 0.158730159 MPG.

The beauty of Bo Johansson's converter is that it does all the conversions at once. How would you specify to Google that you wanted to convert from X miles per US gallon to MP(Imperial)G AND L/100Km AND Km/L, without having to do three Google searches?

Ah. OK. That's a good point. When you want to do several conversions at once, it's useful to have a page like that. But, I must say, I definately use Google pretty much on a daily basis for doing conversions and looking up constants. It's partly because Google is my home page, so that just makes it even easier to look these things up.
