Gen2 Prius lost engine oil

    There’s no EGR valve in Gen 2 Prius.

    The first placed bug I had I said we needed a new motherboard. They had plugged a buggy memory chip in it but there was also an issue in the first, soldered-in bank. :eek: They ended up giving us another computer to work with.

    My 07 with 214k Miles started consuming oil at 1-2 quarts ever 5k. I switched to 5w40 and it's made a considerable difference. I no longer have to add before I change my oil at 5k oci. I'm also trying not to push it on the highway. Side benefit is the engine sounds smoother

    Yes Im running 40 weight too when my very carefully maintained bought new 07 at 120k miles started eating a little oil like less that half a quart between a 5k OCI. Never lost any oil but it started around 120k miles.

    Took a milaege hit but I don’t care. I watch it carefully now. Never allowed to go below the full line.
