I got the led version and a 12v adapter with a ssr for about 5 bucks and a plastic case when I'm done total cost about 50-60 bucks not 300 something. my battery was rebuilt twice needs a lightbulb discharge then a full charge and it should be good for about 5k then it will need it again.

if your computer illiterate buy the VXDIAG. Search that on amazon and buy the prius/Lexus model. has full factory software
    techstream.
Its the dongle that plugs into the OBD connector and then USB's into your laptop. pretty plug and play.

I have a similar LED power supply to charge and upgraded to a automatic discharger.....it's a major time saver compared to the lightbulb discharger (but costs $300)

It should become mandatory to provide codes when trouble lights are displaced.

Yeah I didn't want to spend that much if I didn't have too. thinking of adding a 300V panel meter to the whole thing (add another 5 bucks lol) and I should be able to charge this thing back into shape. But making the 3d printed port will save me from removing everything all the time lol.

You got a charger on a gen2? Pls how did you set the charger up? What sort of charger is that?

I'm interested in the charger setup for your car. Any pictures, or links?

    Thanks

Yeah I am building it right now to be precise you use a led power supply from meanwell I think that's the brand lpc100-350 meaning 350mA constant current and you use a 12-14V power supply to power the fan. You charge it till it reaches about 240V but you should avoid more than 24 hours of charging especially if it's very in balanced better off light bulb discharging first there are plenty of threads on this here.

So after trying to read the codes nothing popped up because I disconnected the battery and the water pump was replaced in 2014 after the recall I'm at a stand still I don't know what I should start with to know if it works I believe my water pump is working so the next step is the inverter right?

Have you tried to test the 12v battery? if good, disconnect the negative for a minute to reset the car. Then try to start

So I've replaced the coolant pump and the inverter and it will start but dies shortly after I cleaned the air filters for the hv battery and then I cleaned the throttle plate and when putting the air filter compartment back on I forgot to plug those wires back in but it ran without dying but when plugged in it revs funny and dies immediately after then pops up the VSC light and the yellow brake light the triangle is still around and the car with an exclamation is there on the screen still I've tried everything I can think of with no luck

From everything I've found I think the MAF sensor is bad because the car only dies when that's connected

A Prius with 357,000. Exactly how far do people expect these cars to go? That is up there with 18 wheeler mileage.

That could be possible, just change out the denso sensor. But it on Amazon for less than the Toyota branded part from the dealer
