Do you have a J2534 mini vci cable with Techstream? That paired with an old laptop can be had for cheap.

The immitation cables on Amazon and crapBay are of poor quality as you are experiencing 1st had. You mightnwant to try a locla shop thta has one for sale so you can test before finalizing your ourchase. Or, find a seller on Amazon that is a Prime shipper for the free returns. Those whomhave had issues, have reported pin connection issue. Perhaps younhave this same issue? Once the pins were straightened, or the wire was reconnected firmly, all became well.
