    What is the least expensive handheld scan tool that will bleed the brakes on gen 2 Prius?

    Do you have a J2534 mini vci cable with Techstream?

    That paired with an old laptop can be had for cheap.

    I do. It keeps throwing errors saying it failed. I even tried installing different versions of techstream.

    The immitation cables on Amazon and crapBay are of poor quality as you are experiencing 1st had. You mightnwant to try a locla shop thta has one for sale so you can test before finalizing your ourchase. Or, find a seller on Amazon that is a Prime shipper for the free returns.

    Those whomhave had issues, have reported pin connection issue. Perhaps younhave this same issue? Once the pins were straightened, or the wire was reconnected firmly, all became well.

    While this will help with general code reading and clearing, as well as live data, it is not the best tools for brake bleeding.

    VXDIAG has full TIS software. It’s on sale for $68 at VXDIAG SHOP.
    I have one works good plug and play win7 or xp.
