I agree. It is time for somebody in the know to come clean.

Honestly, why are you still here.

You berate the site and its owners who have provided a free service to you. If you don't like it here, then why do remain on this site. Head, meet brick wall.

Sam may have the demeanour of a pit bull, but that doesn't negate the slew of negative PriusShop postings, and silence from the shop, at least in the forums. It's always good to put a few flares and traffic cones around a sink hole, eh what?

Because it's the only game in town......so to speak.

YOUR post seems like a thinly veiled attempt at censorship.
    Not nice.

lol. If you were in any other forum (particularly one run by hotter heads), you would not be around. PriusChat is an all-inclusive community and it became that way because of the type of people that the Prius (used to) attract - those that are techy, those that are kind and those that are patient and understanding.

PriusChat would not be what it is today, if its members were rude, demonizing or arrogant (the "use the search function" or "RTFM" kind)

That's fair. I'm not excusing his actions. I agree that a buyer's CC should not be charged unless the product has actually been shipped.

As a designated moderator of the forum, isn't that part of his job description here?

I've witnessed numerous cases where such actions were quite necessary to preserve the usefulness of the forum.

No. Not when the speech involved is not disruptive or unfairly insulting.

In this case, we don't even know WHO we are talking about.
The change in domain registration information makes it look a LOT like there is a new owner.

All I can determine is it is a domain registered through Tucows in Toronto Canada that has the actual customer information redacted. I thought I recognized the address so I searched it with Google.

There is no real way to determine the true owner from the whois records. To determine anything other than a possible change in domain registrar is speculation.

You don't get to set the standards here. Tideland, as one of several designated Moderators, does get to do so. And it is a necessary job, this site would have been wrecked many times over without their work.

As a long timer here who has been admonished myself a few times, I would suggest that you look carefully at how thin the ice is under your own skates.

After embarrasing myself in other situations without knowing all the "why's", I think it is time for someone who can do it, get in contact with Danny by any means necessary. Or, at minimum, family, business associates and the like. Sometimes, when things like this happen, something tramatic is going on privately. Lets hope not.

I know @Tideland Prius has contacted him in the past. I can only assume that Danny does not want us nosy people knowing what is happening.

Sometimes, business people get in over their heads with obigations and don't tell anyone, less they lose business opportunities. Without knowing him, I know I am assuming a lot, but the behavior shows a pattern of someone trying to do too much...........at the expense of the consumer. I still say someone needs to get a hold of him, family, business associates and find out the real story behind this. The behavior begs us to follow up till we have concrete answers.

I know he has responded to moderators when they email about site issues.
Beyond that I guess we need to trust the collective wisdom of our moderators.

Nope. The owner gets to make the rules. The Moderators should follow them too.

I moderate a few forums currently. And I've been banned from a few over the years too.
I've been doing this since the time when the only way to connect with "the net" was with a dialup modem.

    I know how it works.

Who was it said, Once bitten - twice shy? I have NEVER been effected from any forum. Perhaps there's a morale in that somewhere.
