I prefer to play songs from USB instead of phone but navigation through the songs is painful. Also, it does not show Chinese characters which sucks. I tried a few other languages and it does not show as well. My Odyssey handles other languages just fine. Any solution? Or I have to live with it?
Not sure if you have an android or iphone. I have an android and have uploaded my mp3s to my phone (converted my CD files to mp3). the google play music app is able to play files stored locally on the phone and it seems that enough metadata was preserved in the files that google play music recognizes the album, artist, and track. so when I'm driving I can just talk to the google assistant and ask it to play whatever album stored on the phone that I'd like.
I downloaded about 200 songs onto a USB drive which I access regularly from my Advanced's audio system. You are able to navigate the contents of the USB stick which are organized alphabetically by the system. On the right side (when you are safely stopped), are buttons which display letters in groups of three. This does NOT work while car is in motion. Plus there's also a vertical scroll bar, or you can "voice command" titles of songs on the stick. If necessary, make sure your titles are simple and straightforward, for best voice command performance. You can rename songs using your PC. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app. AChoiredTaste.com
