    Calculated MPG 61.7
    Displayed MPG 64.5
    Average cost per mile .043 cents - total cost $1291.36
    Average 623 miles per tank - 10.1 gallons per fill-up

    Nice, that's awesome mileage!

    Question - how do you get 10.1 gallons on average? How far past 0 miles-to-go do you let it go? Or do you top it off as much as possible? 9.7 is about as high as I've gotten.

    I almost always wait until the "empty" light comes on before I fill the tank. Even go past the DTE is down to 0 at times. l have had a few 800+ mile tanks. Not particularly smart of me I know, but I've never run out of gas. Just like to live on the edge I guess. I do not "top off" the tanks, at most I go to the next round dollar amount after the first click. The most gas I have ever put in was 11.2 gallons.

    better than ever. I have retired and no longer have the daily eco-friendly commute that I once had, so my MPGs have generally decreased. But I can still get great mileage when the road allows... The lifetime numbers would be even better but I took a 5,000 mile road trip last summer and averaged only 50.9 MPG on that trip.

    I don't drive near as much retired as I did when I worked. Owning a Prius and not driving as much makes gas one of my very minor monthly expenses. When grass cutting season comes I spend more on mower gas than car gas. lol

    It would be nice if Toyota made a Prius mower. :)

    I must drive a lot...I guess that would make sense given that I live in the sticks in the appalachian mountains. I don't have the exact odometer but I'm somewhere around 43,000-44,000 miles and purchased mine back in August 2016. The lifetime mileage 55.2 MPG (US). The best single tank was 666.1 miles and used 10.459 gal at 63 MPG. Worst tank was 354.5 miles and used 8.063 gal at 44 MPG.Most of my driving is rural at speeds 45-70 MPH, not much of city or interstate driving unless I am on a trip. Where you drive, when you drive and how you drive make all the difference and why there are those who can achieve 800 miles on a tank and those who can barely crack 500.

    Since I've got the OBDII reader I have learned a few things. If the HV battery is cold, or under 83 degree, you won't get the full 21kW until it has warmed up, along with all the other factors regarding temperature. So the longer your commute in cold weather your fuel economy won't take a big hit, provided everything gets warmed up.

    That makes sense because as you draw power from a battery it will make it's own heat

    The power output is limited until the battery gets over 80-85 F, which in cold weather that will probably take a while, longer than most people would be commuting. In most situations you really have to drive in stop and go traffic, city traffic or drive fairly aggressive to heat the battery up. The battery heating up is technically wasted energy, the more efficient something is (in this case the battery) the less heat (and other forms of energy) is created.

    Gently up and downhill stretches at 50-65 mph help with this too as the regenerative braking and electric motor assist move quite a bit of current in and out of the battery thus warming it quite efficiently.
