    Good Evening everyone,

After a trip to a dealer to get my parking sensors repaired, upon leaving the dealer I found that my CD changer is no longer working, and displaying the "CD Error" message. After having a read up on the issue, I think my headunit may be broken. So the radio works, but no CDs which is a bit of a pain.

Anyway, I've been looking into swapping the OEM JBL headunit out for an aftermarket one with Apple Carplay. This is where I get stuck. Are there any plug and play wiring harness adaptors to help with this?

This is what I have found so far:
Metra - Aftermarket Radio Wiring Harness with OEM Plug (70-1761)

I also have read some information about the JBL amplifier causing issues, can anyone elaborate on this? I have a 2005 model (6months before the reversing camera and higher resolution MFD came out).

If anyone can point me where AND WHAT adaptors to buy to make this switch easier I'd really appreciate it. My car is a UK model if that makes a difference.

Ideally I don't want to be splicing wires and making up connectors. I also want to retain the steering controls (volume, source, and track select).

Any help would be great, I keep getting more confused when I read up on this.

    Thanks.

I Used http://www.incartec.co.uk when replacing the stereo in my 2008 Prius, there is a lot of work involved and it worked out about £140 ish for parts to replace the stereo, but its worth it. You need to work out the make of the new stereo that you want, and then buy the relevant kit to do this. I have got a Pioneer in mine, I've got the kit for the steering wheel but haven't installed it as I remember it being hassle for some reason (was 3 years ago now).

I’ll be doing this to my Prius over the next few days.
I’ll let you know how it went and what I used if you want?
