Waiting until closer to the end of the manufacturer warranty, Dec 2018. But I can work on the technical approaches.

With a reasonable understanding of the Prius Prime in cold weather, I turned my attention to the BMW i3-REX:

Finding the car charged, I enabled "precondition" and got the second graph. I suspect the initial charge happened because the earlier charge session had warmed the battery. Then the rate of charge follows roughly the battery decline until about 2kW. I suspect this is the base heater load.

Thanks to @RCO, this 22:38 (mm:ss) YouTube discusses more options to tweak a BMW i3-REx:

Setting the default mode to "Eco Pro" gives more range by default yet you can still 'stomp' the accelerator as needed. The rest makes the car trimmed to fit. For example, turning off the passenger seat warning alarm makes it easy to carry grocery bags in the passenger seat.

welp you sold me on the alarm alone.

my 70 lb shepherd husky mutt loves to ride shotgun.

nearly at 50k miles on the beamer. a little pricey for registration and insurance, but i charge for free at work about 90% of the time. it's an odd car.

I generally like most of Alex's videos. He is very fair to alternative energy vehicles, I assume mainly because he drives one himself.

Back in August 2017, road debris took a bite out of the passenger side, rear tire:
Something took a bite of my tire - BMW i3 Forum

    After about 3-5k service miles:

    • left tire ~20k service miles
    • right tire ~3-5 service miles
    • BMW reports 5mm depth on all four tires with even wear

It's an old list. Note that the Model S on it are the 60 and 85 kWh packs.
