17x7.5" 35mm offset - Will it fit?

    Hey guys,
    I was wondering if anybody was running 17x7.5" 35mm offset rims. The tires would be 225/45/17's to keep the outer diameter the same as the stock tires.
    I'm not planning on slamming it but am planning on lowering it (Tanabe or RSR Springs).

    According to the offset calculator I used it would extend out 18mm from stock (8mm inward which shouldn't be a problem).

    Just wanted to check before ordering them.

    I typically deal with & build BMW suspensions and have a pretty good "general" idea of what works, having said that I'd tell you to buy & install your lowering springs first. This way you can reassess your situation cheaply, because springs cost roughly 4 times less than wheels & tires. After a short bit of time & mileage on your new lowering springs, then you could do a Mock Up on your current 25" tires by duct taping a ~6 to ~9mm lump* on the outside sidewall of your tires (any soft material) to see what your new clearance might be. Also try to make sure you have at least ~3 to ~4mm's between the wheel/tire & strut. Testing things like this is always a good idea...

    I went ahead and ordered up the rims/tires and also ordered up RS*R springs (they evidently came out with ones specifically for the Primes). I did switch the tires from a 225/45-17 to 215/45-17's. The drop is pretty mild and with the switch from 225's to 215's should be good to go based on the research I did over on the 4th Gen sub-forums.
    It'll take a couple weeks to get everything in and i'll update as soon as everything is mounted up.

    Since you're going for the Monster Truck look, why not just buy a 225/60-17 ? Because they're even Bigger.
