First post and prospective Prime buyer. The 4 seater is what killed it for me and 2 buddies of mine. With a 200 mile daily commute and around 25 m a day during the weekends, this is my ideal vehicle. I normally run my cars to the ground(have 240k on my current one).
Holding out hope for the 5 seater sooner rather than later..

    I agree.

This may or may not show up accurately on your screen because computer monitors are notoriously inaccurate in rendering colors (and are usually out of adjustment, too), but this is the color which I saw under the florescent lights in the showroom:

    Blue-Magnetism-1-.jpg

And this is a better rendering of what the color actually looks like:

    Blue-Magnetism-1.jpg

    There was that much difference!

(Our Prime is "Magnetic Gray Metallic" which is appropriately classic and dignified but lacks the pizzazz of the "Blue Magnetism.")

Monitors and phone screens would do better if they had the Pantone Matching System. It would be so nice to see what colors really are instead of what the screen decides to give you.

How about posting some numbers of unsold, not used Primes and the radius from some point source?

I know for a fact that what dealers post is absolutely BS. I've been to several (in NJ when I was shopping) and they listed dozens of different models/color combinations on their site, but usually only had 2 or 3 on their lot.

they claim that what's on their lot is not all of what's available (e.g. what's at the port). I also think many of them pad what they advertise with what they can "get their hands on" (by trading with another dealer).

In nj at least I've found that you just walk into any of them, tell them what you want specifically and they can find it.

wellesley toyota lists 16, most i've seen so far since last winter. but maybe they are not all there?

and ma has joined the $4,500. rebate group with ny/nj. plus, they show extra $1,200. discount right on the website, before even negotiating.

You should note that there is no 2018 prime available with these dealers(or may be couple of them). And you go to any dealers in southern California you will see plenty of 2017 primes in their lot. I just recently bought by prime plus and I know it first hand.

For what it's worth (this may not help much, as I almost never watch "live" TV anymore -- I happened to be at work in the break room when I saw this) but I saw the first Toyota commercial on TV last night that specifically mentioned the deals on the Prius Prime (and only the Prime). This was a first for me (up until now I hadn't seen the Prime mentioned on TV spots). Note that this is SoCal, and it was a typical "Toyota Money-Saving Event Going On" type of general ad, though the only car featured was the Prime. That said, I see them everywhere now while driving here in SoCal.

There are lots of Primes in Cali for the same reason there are a lot of Bolts.

An interesting stat is that over 90% of Wisconsin EVs on the road were bought used
And most all of them were imported from California, Georgia, Washington and Illinois.

If the folks in Cali don’t buy them, nobody here can get one down the road.

What’s worse EV sales in Wisconsin have been in the Single digits since October of last year,
With under 5000 plug ins in the state this may seem unimpressive but it still represents a 70-90% drop in monthly sales.

My dealer in Sacramento area still has 47 primes, all 2017, no 2018 yet.

Its called a push system, once they sell or lease in Cali and get their state credits they can then retail them somewhere else.

They don’t make as much bling outside Cali

If you're asking about my 2012 Prius V ... the rear shocks needed to be replaced; some "boots" (like CV boots but on the rear); there was soemthing that sounded like the U-joints were going out but someone said it was worse than that b/c it doesn't have U-joints.

I put 90k miles on this car (on top of the 32k it had when I bought it) and all I had to do was change the oil regularly, replace the tires once, and replace stuff like windshield wipers, fluids, and various filters.

Frankly, I'm amazed as how solid this vehicle was built and how maintenance-free it was.

Here in AZ the folks at the dealership told me I'd be able to get an HOV plate from the DMV. Well, they maintain a list of "qualified vehicles", but they haven't been issuing HOV plates for any of them for several years now. The law only authorized 10,000 plates for these "qualified vehicles" and they were all issued quite a while back. They only vehicles that get HOV plates in AZ today must be 100% alt-fuel vehicles. Plug-in hybrids don't count for that.

This is true. My dealership only sold three of our 5 when they first arrived. So oh well. Well Toyota in California has the Marai. Its a hydrogen fuel cell hybrid.

How did you find these numbers? I'm actively looking for one.
