On my Tacoma I was able to connect a live jumper to the fog light fuse so that I could turn the fogs on and off independently from the headlights. Anyway to do that with the C's?

Wouldn't that mean it's the same? A complete 180 would be different. :ROFLMAO:

Don't worry about it. I have issues with circles... I never know which corner to stop in.

i wouldn't jump live power to the fuse of the fogs themselves.. not like it'll do anything anyway.. you must be thinking of jumping power to the fog relay?

because what I would personally do is override the relay that tells the fogs to turn on only when the headlights are on... by getting another power source to use as the control.

is it possible? sure.. but i would still hook it up so it's at the very, very least.. controlled by the ignition.. wouldn't want to just have it able to turn on at any time.. (even if the car is off)

    i also had a 2008 BSP tacoma X-runner and used XR-u.com

I had the independent fogs as well and looks awesome! i think you have to connect it with the day running light perhaps??

I hooked my fog lights to the fog plugs I found pre installed behind their location in prius c 3

Is there a fuse I should add for them to work on the normal low light switch ? I dont have a button for them in the car

Please help and send me the location and rating of the fogs fuse

I want to do this as well. Anyone know where the fog light relay is in the C?

Is it possible to ground the wire coming from the stalk, enabling the fogs to turn on? A similar mod exists for headlights enabling auto on, but in the fog's case it would only require a ground switch, vs where the headlights would require ambient light censoring and timing circuitry.

I can't speak for the 2012 for certain, but when I pulled the diagrams from the Toyota TIS site, it pointed me to the body module for all of these relay locations.

I was installing my aftermarket ones, but internally my "2" was missing a couple of relays and the wiring to the headlight switch for the fog lights. The under hood side was there, but the rest was MIA. Either way that's where your relays live.

I wonder if you could solder a relay in the missing sockets and poof: fog relays

You absolutely could. You just have to find the right relay. If that was the only issue, I would have done it in a second. Wiring in and out for the lights was missing on mine as well. For me it was easier to just use the aftermarket harness that came with my kit.

FINALLY I was able to find a wiring diagram for the fog lights! With this we should be able to come up with a way to override the fogs and turn them on anytime. I'm going to ask my electrician friend for help deciphering the diagram. Here it is if anyone has any ideas:

[I studied electricity/electronics in 1975 to 1977, so I am very rusty. Take my explanation with a grain of salt]

Red is Positive 12 volts from battery, this circuit is not switching positive. Red is always on.
The C2 relay operates the fogs.
The Grey and White wire goes to the user switch C1, when it is grounded, the fogs work
If the Black wire from C1 to C3 is grounded, the fogs can light.

Relay C3 checks to see that Low beams are on and High beams are off, using the negative voltages. (that is odd to me)

If you found a negative wire that grounded when the ignition was on, you could substitute it for the Orange and Black wire into C3.

Then fogs would work when Ignition was on and High Beams are off.
