Start counting from the side opposite the ECU and the last 4 modules will be blocks 13 and 14.

It is up to you. Changing all 4 modules will be more thorough, assuming you can get 4 better modules that closely match the other existing modules. Having the data to know whether the replacement modules will match is gained from load testing all the modules in the battery. Going through the process of load testing all the modules, you may uncover others that are less than good. It may end up you have so many that are suspect that you should replace them all.
Yes, but why? All you will do is move the code to a different block.

Check with a load as probably only 1 module in each block is bad.

The thing you’ll need to wrap your head around is you’ll be doing this activity frequently. Do you have a way to balance te pack once you have the bad modules removed?

If not, the repairs you are doing will be occurring rather frequently :(.

What I have is the hybrid automotive Prolong equipment and use it to balance my pack. I share this with another member here and have loaned it out to another member who rebuilt his pack in a 2006 and it is running strong :).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

You don't need to do that, you can be sure, plus your load test will confirm.

You can use either a grid charger, like the one sold by Hybrid Automotive, or buy one or more remote control (RC) hobby chargers, like the ones used by remote control car, planes, helicopter, etc, enthusiasts to charger their NiMH batteries (although, I think they are using Li-Ion technology these days, but I digress). The RC chargers should do both technologies.

Depending on your options and budget, there might be 2 worthwhile considerations:
    • Todd at Tampa hybrids sells used packs and would avoid your current situation of continued “whack-a-mole” or “kick the can down the road”
    • @jerrymildred might be willing to help as he has a Prolong setup and is in the greater Tampa area (but only if you talk nice to him ;))
Good luck and keep us posted (y).
