Greetings! I'm the new guy here from the G4 forum. A job change necessitated HOV lane stickers so a new 2017 Prime Advanced replaces my 2017 Prius Four Touring. Switched up colors so it's not too same/same. Excited to pack 20,000-25,000 miles a year on this guy.

I used to drive a 2016 Prius three as well (gave it to my mother) and recently picked up a Prius prime as replacement. Anyhow, what do you think of driving the prime vs the 4th gen? For me for some reason I find the prime driving a little less confident than the 4 gen. At highway speed. May be because it’s heavier or something.

If it came with HOV stickers already applied by the dealer, you want to make sure they are 2017+.

The 2016 HOV stickers are out luck on 1-Jan-2019 as it stands now.

Was your 2016 Three a Touring? That will definitely make a difference in handling confidence.

Thanks! NorCal only at $1,500 rebate (SoCal $2,000). We obtained this $34,443 MSRP for $29,397 (+ tax, title), inclusive of rebate.

This definitely does not drive as well as the Prius Four Touring. I thought that car drove extremely well. This feel more like our 2012, wallows a bit more. Not bad by any means, just after a different mission.

No stickers. We'll apply for them when the plates come. I understand it takes about 35-40 days total to receive them. They'll be the red ones, which are renewable 1/2019 to last through (or to?) 2022. By then, the Prime would have close to 100,000 miles, more than any car we've ever owned, so we'd likely trade to whatever is the hot new EV thing in 2022.
