It only took mine 3 days from Houston port arrival to the dealer in OKC in September. They said vehicles marked as sold go through first.

I'm in TN. I went to NY to get my prime advanced just a week ago today! They don't have any near me. There was one 5 hours away but they would not come off MSRP! Before finding the one in NY, I saw some in NJ too but they decided they wouldn't transfer the car to my local dealership or sell me the car if I came up there because of the extra paperwork for being in TN!!
Anyway, NY had a great price - I got $3500 rebate from them (didn't know anything about the additional $1110 off of sales tax but I didn't pay NY sales tax - just TN). I will get the tax credit too. Flying up there to get the car and a couple hotel stays on the drive back was worth it. I'm still reading the manual though... it truly is "advanced"! Love the safety features, the heated steering wheel, and the HUD - that's why I had to have the Advance trim. Good luck!

I woke up to a text from the Dealer letting me know it was put on the truck last night and could be here today!! Or possibly Monday but I’m shooting for today! LoL

Excellent! They're very fast at the port. The Gulf States Vehicle Processing center is here.

The dealer sounds confused about sales tax versus Toyota rebate. I bought my Advanced in New Jersey and it worked out very well. You shouldn’t have their sales tax at all, since you are taking it right home. I didn’t. My dealer arranged for the payment of the Michigan sales/use tax and even arranged license plates and title in Michigan. I got the $3,500 Toyota NJ rebate off the purchase price at closing last September. Nice that is is now $4,000. The rebate did cover non residents.

Welcome to the forum. I am fairly new here myself. I bought an Advanced Prime back in December of 2016 when they first arrived in NJ. I did not consider purchasing a Plus because I wanted to the large 11.6 inch display. I chose the advanced model over the Premium because I wanted all the safety features (blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic). Because my wife was going to be the primary user of the vehicle, and because she typically has my daughter as a passenger, the safety features were key for me. The Head Up Display (HUD) had been pretty useful when I am on long drives at night, but that didn't sway my decision to buy. Additionally, I have never even attempted to use the Intelligent Park Assist...that feature is wasted on me.

As for the lack of a spare tire...It was/is a concern. I got over it though. I have only had one flat in the last 10 years, so at h end of the day, I felt comfortable with the risk. Also, I am a AAA member and can make use of their roadside assistance (or the Roadside assistance provided by Toyota). With all that said, my wife did indeed get a flat tire on the Advanced Prime. AAA Roadside took a while to et there, but fortunately she was on a quite suburban street and not along the highway. It worked out o.k. The lack of a spare tire is always in the back of your mind when you are on long road trips that take you through remote, low population areas.

Overall, the extra money to purchase the Advanced has been worth it for me. I am a tech lover at heart and having all the gadgets on the Advanced brigs me some satisfaction in that regard. But above all else, safety was the determining factor. If you don't need blind spot monitoring or rear cross traffic alerts, then save the money and go with the Premium.

So Toyota’s cash back and NYS Clean Drive Rebate, totaling $5.1K, applied before Sales Tax or after?! I’m getting different price breakdowns from different NY dealers...Anyone with recent experience can shed some light on it?
Federal EV Tax Credit is still alive and well for 2018, isn’t it ?!
    Thanks!

Yes Fed tax credit still alive and well.
I am late to the thread, but definitely some left coast folks go to NY or MD for PiP and Prime.
PiP it was really popular idea. But if possible helps to have a dealer experienced in out-of-state.
I was confused about the NY $1000 state tax discount for out-of-staters, as I thought you paid the tax in the state of ownership not NY.

right you are. nj collects the sales tax when you register your vehicle in NJ. doesn't matter if it's second hand or new. looked into this when I was buying my prime (I live in nj) and there was no benefit to driving into NY, since they would have just collected the NJ sales tax and passed it along to NJ for me. the NY sales tax rebate only helps if you're registering the car in NY.

Bough in MD and got a temporary tag. Registered it in NC and paid tax there when getting registration and tags. Only issue I had was I picked it up and the temp tags were in my name. Since it is my wife's car (well.. jointly owned, I get to do the maintenance and wash it, she drives it) she wanted her name first on the title and registration and that confounded the governor's computers. Eventually got it sorted out.

Point of this post was I paid nothing in MD beyond their temp tag fee. All the real costs were in the state I live in and titled/registered it in. And the pick up took about 20 minutes because they were used to doing Internet sales. CarMax in Laurel MD

I am thinking of getting mine at CM Laurel as well. I am also from NC and was wondering about the drive home...so they got you a temp tag for MD? or NC? Did register it after getting back to NC or before your purchase? I was going to go into DMV and ask about the process to do this, but since you have experience...any thoughts you can share are appreciated. Just curious as to what the temp tag cost and the duration it is valid. Thanks!

Drive to Portland and you will get a much better deal on a Prime than you will in Seattle! Due to limited supply in Seattle they will not negotiate but in Portland there are many Primes to choose from at all the dealers.

I caught the morning train from Cary to DC and then a metro to the station nearest. Cost around $90 IIRC. Bank check in hand. Costs known to the penny. CM internet guy picked me up. They gave me car, 30 day temp MD tags, keys and a long enough lesson on the nav system that I could use it. No surprises or hassle. Of course they gave me the chance to buy extras but no real pressure. Out the door in about 30 minutes. Don't remember what the temp tags cost but that it was trivial. I drove south listening to a Nationals game on the satellite service until about 2 PM. Stopped for the night at a $30 motel. When I got to NC, don't remember if I had to wait for a title, think I did. When received, I went in to my local DMV and paid NC state taxes and license fees and title transfer in cash. No taxes etc to MD other than temp tags fee that I recall. The internet sales guy should be able to give you a breakdown. No idea if my guy is still there (Terry Haskins), just ask for internet sales guy.

I had a flat in the first month, so went and bought a Corolla donut spare from a local salvage yard for $25. I bought a black tire cover to match my interior, and keep the tire in the foot well behind the passenger seat most of the time.

I rarely have more than three in the car, so it's not really in the way. If I have 4 people going on a trip, we take my wife's SUV, as we can't fit the luggage in the Prius anyway. If 4 of us are going somewhere locally, I just throw the tire in the back, or leave it home if we need the trunk space.

I also carry a high quality air pump, and a plug kit, just for good measure. Though the plug kits don't always work. My puncture was on the edge of a tread gap, and wouldn't seal with a quickie plug. I had to take the tire to a tire shop, and have it taken off the rim, so they could install a backed-up plug from the inside.

Oh, and I would have liked the additional safety features of the Advanced, but couldn't see blowing $4K on them, so got a Premium.

    Go for it!

One other note regarding a spare - I've been intending to rig up some kind of cable (bike lock cable maybe?) to secure the wheel in either the foot well or the trunk, so it doesn't fly around in a wreck. Thanks for reminding me :).

1, Yep sound bought right. But in Ottawa at a couple dealers they wouldn't bring the price down but one. So maybe search around u also get state or fed incentive

2, There is a really good fix a flat kit. And Toyota roadside assistance is great they will even book you a hotel if ur car breaks down

3, Saw bad reviews on the big screen. Wanted physical climate controls. Never had a screen in a car so it's still a big jump from no screen to screen.

    4. Us in Canada have 2018 model already.

I would suggest to have a spare tire in garage, only take it with you when you travel out of town. That's what I did and makes me feel assured.
