Umm ... It would be silly for me to drive over there anytime soon if I don't necessarily need to charge. Simply by using one of the many apps I can usually see good or bad location reports just like chargepoint can. When they work, and I'm on the app, regardless of ownership, I can see how much power is being drawn. That means chargepoint can monitor also, without expecting their customers to do their grunt work for them.

We're proud to announce that ChargePoint has now been listed in the Global Cleantech 100 seven times, making us the first EV charging company to be inducted into the Cleantech Group Hall of Fame. We will continue to work with other industry leaders to enable clean transportation.

  6. While workplaces will gladly install a charger at work, some will install only L1, and requires a $200/yr permit to park there

We've recently released our annual Charging Forward Report (our state of the industry report).
Here's where you can download the full report.

Charging Forward provides a vivid snapshot of the state of electric mobility, tracks the growth of EV charging and mass EV adoption, and paints a picture of what’s to come in electric mobility, utilities, fleets, vehicle technology and more.

In addition to taking a look back at the year before, the Charging Forward report takes a look forward, making several predictions about what’s to come in the world of e-mobility.

By 2020, we're estimating that more than three million public charging spots will be installed globally, supporting the mass adoption of electric vehicles around the world. As electric infrastructure grows, utilities and automakers will explore new business models that reflect the new realities and technologies associated with e-mobility.

Unfortunately, that's not available within the report, though providing a breakdown is great feedback for our next report!

Our Charging Forward report is now interactive!

Everywhere a driver parks becomes an opportunity to charge, and considering that most cars are parked more than 90% of the time, that’s a lot of charging!

Choose a time of day on the slider at the link to see where EV drivers are charging.

by being Interactive, does that mean I'd have a better chance on finding out WHY the TWO chargepoint DC quick chargers at the Marriott Courtyard, Irvine CA on Irvine Center Dr have both been dead for over 2 months?
Or even when they may come back? Or are they being taken out & users should just give up?
When I call chargepoint, they do a song & dance about maybe they are owned by the hotel, & that's why they don't know. So then, the Folks at ChargePoint say they'll look into it & get back to me ..... & then when I call in a couple more weeks, it's the same story.

Hello! I'm sorry you've had issues following up on the status of those two ChargePoint stations via phone. I might suggest writing in so that you'll find it easier to follow up via email. Here's that contact form. I hope they'll be able to get to the bottom of it for you, as I personally do not have access to that information to provide you with an update here. - Rochelle H.

With the greatest respect, it would make better commercial sense to have Team Chargepoint staffed by the operational staff as well as the PR side. Otherwise, your input is purely advertising and potentially unethical. At least attempt to be proactive to the forum members input, not supply formal hoops to jump through.

Many of you saw the news about the ChargePoint Express Plus (delivering up to 400 kW per port) on InsideEV or CleanTechnica. I'm happy to share that we have a quick update regarding DCFC!

We haven't released very much information publicly yet, however, I'm able to share a just a few details that might help to answer questions you've all asked us here in the past! :)

We are actively engineering all of our I-5 sites, including the necessary site and utility design work. This is a key part of getting stations installed that
are reliable and accessible to all EV drivers.

We expect all ChargePoint stations on I-5 to be active by October 2018!

ChargePoint will be installing chargers in more than 70+ sites in California this year. There will be a mix of chargers at each site, for example, 1 or 2 DC Fast Chargers & 1 Level 2 AC chargers, including the ChargePoint Express 200, Express 250, Express Plus, and the CT4000. You can find details on these stations here. In
total, we will be installing 100+ DC Fast charging stations and 70+ Level 2 chargers.

The major funding source is CEC grants with additional funds contributed by ChargePoint and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. The stations are also part of the West Coast Electric Highway Initiative which involves participation from multiple state agencies.

That's it for now, though as always, we'll share more with the community when we have new updates or more details available!

Congratulations on your progress, but I have a question.
Would it be feasible to install a lower power AC outlet on you DCFC points for those older BEVs like the Renault Zoe which lack a DC charge port?

First time charger and brand new Prius Prime Advanced owner needs help****
yesterday i visited a free ChargePoint station to charge my Prius. I plugged in my Prius, I thought I heard the click but the small status indicator below the charger never lit up as I'm told it's suppose to. I noticed one of blue lights on my dash inside my car blinked blue so i thought my Prius was charging. I also did not switch my Prius to 'charge now' inside my car. I just plugged it in, authorized payment (even though it was free), saw the blinking blue light, locked my car and walked away. When i came back 1.5 hours later and looked at my car, it showed nothing had happened. The ChargePoint app also showed that I gained no charge. What did I do wrong? Do I need to have 'charge now' turned on and then I plug it in?

...clearly i need some serious help after watching all the Prius charging videos I could find on YouTube. Thank you in advance.

I'll bet I'm not the only one who wonders why the Apple system is getting the $5 love shown to it. Here's a guess. The phones are more expensive and they have less apps & a smaller community -

so through chargepoint - they won't feel so bad?

    Welcome and congratulations!!
I think I've read here that you have to tell it to charge now if you want it to ignore the timer settings and charge immediately. It's the opposite of my first generation plug-in. It should be in the manual. My PiP has that stuff right up front, iirc, but I'm not familiar with the Prime manual.
