Hopefully someone has seen this before and can lend some insight..

    Replaced brake accumulator
Using TIS 12.10.0.019 if I try to bleed the accumulator it fails immediately with the below error.
All of the active tests associated with the accumulator also fail.

As a test I swapped the old accumulator back in and get the same error.
Anyone have thoughts? I haven't backprobed the harness to see if I have voltage from the emergency capacitor brake box.

I can try upgrading to a newer version of TIS but I'm at a loss here. Anyone have ideas?

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

Might try downgrading a couple of versions instead.

Try 10.30.029 and see if that works.

I'll give that a try, had a hard time finding a good copy of 10.30.029 but finally tracked one down. I'll post back with the results good or bad.

No luck, tried 9. Something, 10.30.029 and a new mvci cable and nothing.. I'm wondering if the brake capacitor module is hosed.

None of the active tests for the accumulator work.

As you know, this bleeding process happens when the car is IG-ON, which means the 12V battery is being heavily drained by the vehicle electronics. Is the battery fully-charged? Measure the voltage across the battery while the car is IG-ON.

If the battery voltage is low, it may help to supplement the battery voltage by using a battery charger.

I've tried both with the car in ready mode and just IG-ON after confirming the 12v battery has a charge.
To add to this I have occasionally gotten a DTC C1377 so I'm wondering if something is flaking out with the capacitor/emergency unit.
I have checked voltage input/output at the capacitor per the troubleshooting manual and it was to spec but maybe it can't handle the current draw of the accumulator bleeding? I'm out of ideas.

As I dislike when a questions is asked and there's never follow-up on a solution.....

    The fix:
Set the car on fire and pushed it off a cliff (kidding)

    Replace the following:
    Replaced the brake capacitator
    Replace the skid control ECU
    Started seeing error codes
C1352 inf 11 and C1355. Ran through pinouts and started testing continuity; found broken wires inside the harness SLAFR+ and SLARL+ and SMC2 were bad or damaged were the accumulator sub harness enters the main wiring harness by the firewall. Once these were repaired I was able to bleed the car correctly.

I am having this same original symptom. I just replaced the accumulator from a donor vehicle. It was hard and way beyond my mechanical aptitude!!!

But, it is mostly back together and the bleeding process fails almost immediately at the OP's screen.

I left in on the battery charger while I am at work today, so I hope to be able to rule out a low 12V battery. It was drawing a lot of current and has been sitting for over a week, and the accumulator was running a lot.

I'm definitely interested if there are any other suggestions. I'll beep out the wiring harness if it comes to that.
