I was driving home from work, and as I was driving, the red triangle with a bunch of dash lights came on, and my MFD said "Problem." But it still seemed to drive normally so I just continued with my drive home. Once I parked the car and turned it off, I tried to turn it back on, and it wouldn't start (all the way).

When I try to turn it on normally (or press the power button twice), it just gives me the red triangle with a bunch of dash lights, and it will not allow me to shift into any gear accept neutral.

When I only press the power button once, the speedometer nor dash lights turn on.

I checked the 12v battery on the MFD. It says 12.3v in normal mode, and 11.8 in load mode. Also, the hybrid battery shows green.

It is a 2006 Prius. Before this happened, there were no dash warning lights or anything on the MFD at all. No unusual sounds. It drove beautifully like normal. It just happened suddenly on my drive home from work.

I checked my coolant reservoir, and there is no turbulence, but I cannot get my Prius into READY mode. Should there still be turbulence in the coolant reservoir just after holding the brake and pressing the power button like normal (not in READY)?

    Any help is appreciated!

The inverter coolant reservoir should show fluid turbulence if the Prius is IG-ON or READY. If the only problem is that the inverter overheated due to pump failure, then the car should allow you to get to the READY mode, after the powertrain cools down.
