I have been looking at information, building my next vehicle (probably will be Clarity), and wondering how the fuel economy and range compares. Side-by-side comparisons on their respective websites indicate the Prius has higher range but I don't know why. It may have to do with the smaller fuel tank on the Clarity but is it really that much smaller? I can only get 8 gallons in my Prius Plugin. Websites indicate the Prius has a much bigger tank. Any feedback about this aspect?

The Prime is more efficient and has a slightly larger fuel tank. (What you pump on the low fuel light isn't the full size of the tank since you have a reserve of about 2.5 gal/10 litres). The Clarity has a 7 gal tank but the low fuel light will come on sooner than that so the typical owner may be refuelling 5-5.5 gal
