It seems like I get more charge when I set the car to start charging at a specific time, rather than "charge for departure (i.e., to finish at a specific time)..

Has anybody else had this experience, or is it my imagination?

Please explain what you men by "get more charge." The battery should charge to 100% no matter which method. Are you referring to estimated miles of EV usage available? That's just an estimate based on your previous EV trips, not how or when the battery is being charged.

the only way they would be different would be if you unplugged before charging finished. charge for departure let's the computer do the calculating, although some have had to set an earlier departure time because the car wasn't finished charging.

    I think that's what's been happening.
