I appreciate that you post this, but didn't you used to post one that didn't have diesels in it?

Not by my design. The VW diesel scandal put all but a handful of EU diesels in 'stop sale' mode. Since then, diesels have slowly come back after extensive testing. It appears Ford and RAM did not drink the Bosch 'koolaid.'

Doesn't InsideEv's have a similar monthly spreadsheet that has only plug ins?

Yes but limited to J1772 equipped cars. So they don't, rightfully, report the fuel cell vehicles.

This is also the first month GM is using their new 'quarterly' report system.

FCA makes their own cool aid. Thank you , very much.

A diesel isn't available on the 2018 Ram 1500. These diesel sales are 2017 models that were under an EPA stop sale order that was recently lifted.
It's only plug ins. Hybridcars includes alternate fuels. So you get the numbers for diesels and hybrids, which the auto companies may not pull out from gasoline trims in their public sales reports.

Well the Pacifica is doing well. Year to date, the only minivan competitor it isn't out selling is the Sienna, and it is seeing growth while the Toyota is dropping.
Minivan Sales In America – April 2018 | GCBC

The (P)hybrid isn't doing as well. There was that major recall early on, possibly others, and the brand might be attracting customers less open to hybrids and EVs.

It is the plug-in Pacifica that at 300 for April shows solid growth over the past quarter. But I was thinking about another approach to tracking GM sales on a monthly basis.

GM switched to quarterly sales reports like Tesla. However, How Many Tesla Model 3 Cars Have Been Made? based its Tesla Model 3 production on tracking NHTSA VIN numbers. Just I am not invested in Volt or Bolt numbers.

Went to the sales critters & had a look. Man! Surprisingly nice, with lots of options. Never mind the 33EV miles, even the CS mode was decent, considering its a mini van w/ a lot of battery weight.

In most cases, the manufacturers tend not to break out trims and options in the sales numbers they release. The 700k plus pick up trucks sold is mostly F150s, but they also lump the F250s and F350s in with them.

Inside EVs and Hybridcars have to do some more investigating to get the number for just the hybrid or diesel on some models.

So the 952 is the PHEV numbers, and numbers for the Pacifica on sites like Goodcarsbadcars include them in the model's total.

Yes, in the case that a model listed has a straight gasoline ICE sibling, the numbers for those sales aren't included in the table Bob posts.

All the data comes from Jeff Cobb and Hybridcars.com. My contribution is to keep the past four months of data for each model. This gives early trends better than just the previous month and last year.
