Yesterday, I took delivery of my slightly-used and adorable little Prius C (2016, Trim One). I had been shopping for a Trim Two, but this deal seemed to work out.

This is a second car for me and will probably be my "daily driver." I had intended to use this car to just run around town, but it's a lot of fun to drive.

My daughter bought a 2012 Prius C (Trim Two) at my urging in Spring 2012, and that car has served her very, very well. It now has almost 150,000 miles and is still going strong.

When I was shopping for this car, I found a LOT of Prius Cs with very high mileage (100,000+), but I had a hard time finding a late-model Prius C with low miles. This weekend, I was at a Toyota lot in another state, when they mentioned that someone traded in a Prius C the NIGHT BEFORE.

It had 22,000 miles on the odometer, with 19 months remaining on the original 36,000/36-month warranty, so I haggled a bit with the dealership and purchased the car. These little cars really do hold their value! And finding them with low mileage is tough!

I am tickled pink. Absolutely delighted with the technology, performance and efficiency of this sweet little ride!

BTW, I owned a 2012 Camry Hybrid (XLE) for several years, and it never did better than 42 mpg, which was a little disappointing.

Congratulations - I think you will be happy with it. I bought mine off of lease with 20,000 miles on it, and it has been a great little car.

    congrats!

why would 42mpg in a hycam be disappointing, isn't it rated much lower?

Per Fuelly, the average HyCam is getting ~35-36 MPG.

It was a 2012 XLE, which was the year they did a major redesign to the engine, and supposedly resulted in a substantial increase in efficiency. The car had every bell and whistle, and for the two tire changes (the original tires were JUNK), I purchased Michelin Primacys.

I also drove it pretty gently.

By contrast, I can drive this little red thing like it's on fire, and I'm still getting great mileage.

I traded in the Camry at 88,000 miles and it did serve me well. Other than an unfortunate trip through a large ditch and adjoining soybean field, the car had no issues. BTW, Camrys *can* fly given the right circumstances and speed.

agreed, if you look at the two maroney's, you'll see the mpg difference.
