So back in Feb I bought a PP from Nashua. Long stroy short, when we did the financing they didnt deduct my $500 deposit and also forgot to add in a $100 transfer fee. We agreed to have $400 refunded back to my credit card ($500 intitial deposit from CC minus $100 fee). Waited a week and nothing so I kept contacting my sales guy and he said they’re working on it. Two weeks past and he said the same.

Then I got a receipt via mail showing that they refunded $400 back to my CC on 2/16 but it never appeared on my statements. Call my CC and they also didnt see it so I started a claim.

Few weeks past, now Nashua refuse the claim and CC charged back $400. Called many ppl at Nashua including the GM and other managers. Also called Toyota Customer care thing. Case open but all they can do is connect me to Nashua which its the same folks that didnt help me.

Toyota CC said there’s nothinf they can do. My Credit card said they cant claim money back (Chase). But I reopen the case anyways.

Its been over 3 months and Im still waiting for my money!!!

chase credit card? that is poor service. you need to go back to finance with your paperwork, and don't leave without a check or cc credit. make sure your sales weasel is working that day.

How did you pay the deposit? Was it on the same Chase credit card? A personal check? I would think you could bring in the credit card statement showing the deposit payment or the cancelled check into the finance department and get it fixed.

Your sales person really had nothing to do with this mistake and can't fix it, so personally, I wouldn't keep calling that person. They're just going to go over the finance office that screwed up. When I've dealt with Toyota of Nashua, the sales person handed me off to the finance department. They are not involved at all. They are completely separate groups.

In person or on the phone? I would drive up there and insist that it get fixed before you leave - again, with written documentation showing the problem.

I think Bisco and Bresna are right you probably need to go there in person at this point, even though I'm guessing it would be a bit of a drive. The reason that Chase is not involved is because the original deposit charge was not a fraudulent charge, which is the only dispute Chase would be involved in. What happened after that is between you and the dealer. Best would be to make an appointment with the finance person. If you meet with them and they agree to process the refund, ask them to do it while you wait so that you can verify online on the Chase website that the deposit is pending. Don't be surprised if they say something like they only process credits on Thursday or something. In that case tell them that you either need a check today or something in writing that they will be processing the credit on Thursday. If they refuse you could ask to speak to the general manager, who of course probably won't be in. If you are forced to leave with nothing but promises you can pretty much count on not getting a dime from them because there will be no record of your visit. In that case all you could do is sue them in small claims court, however being in a different state that would be a huge hassle and although you would probably win the case, collecting would be difficult.

i assume you would have to talk to consumer affairs in nh, but i haven't done it either.
in the end, it would be small claims court.

    Wait a second.
The Credit Card Company never received the transaction.
How do you figure that THEY are in any way responsible for fixing this ??? Hint: They aren't.

As for the car dealer who is lying to you: Contact your local States Attorney's office and file a fraud complaint. Edit: In the city or county where the transaction occurred.

Good point, but I have a feeling that may not apply to deposits. Probably why Chase won't do anything. It's not an obligation just something that some companies might do as a service, depends on the details of the CC purchase protection written terms, those things they send us that most of us don't read.:(

Don't take the law into your own hands. You take them to small claims court.
