2010 Prius IV - both headlights out again

    So, the original poster in this thread had lights that went out and came back, so that had to be something else besides the known burning-out problem.

    But just for the record, if you happen to just have the known burning-out problem, the harness contraption is about $25.

    You need two, though, plus some splicing parts, which aren't terribly expensive but they do have to be rated for copper-to-aluminum crimping, and if you don't already have the Cu-Al-specific crimp tool to crimp them, it's another $150 or so by itself. The installation isn't quick or foolproof. The front bumper cover needs off. A $620 total quote from a dealer might not be too surprising given their labor rates. DIY could save money, but again, don't take chances with the Cu-Al crimp.

    Both my low beams are out. I got a letter from Toyota recently to place in the Owners's manual about headlight issues. Hopefully if this is a $600.00 harness replacement they will do that. Yikes!
