i swear i didn't have this problem last winter (I'm in a relatively mild climate). I have NO heat in the footwell and I'm cold from the knees down. The regular vents blast a furnace of delightful heat but nada at the lower levels. I do not use the automatic heat as a rule because the fan noise is too much. If i'm on defrost setting, the only thing that's warm is my right hand.

my 2005 prius suffered extensive ($6k) cosmetic body damage in a tornado/hail storm. could the body shop have somehow switched the foot vent off?

anyone know where the control for the foot vent is?

oh, btw, I'm clueless about all matters that require a tool. THANKS

I recommend that you use Auto AC and let the system work as designed. The fan noise will reduce as the car warms. When you are in the defrost mode, most of the air flow will be directed toward the windshield with some towards the dise windows.

Sure, something could have been changed by the body shop. It's also possible that an actuator has stuck or died. I think it's time for a trip to the dealer, at least for a diagnosis.

Beyond trying "Auto A/C", push the "Climate" button and study the screen. Every automatic function can be over-ridden manually. Have the owner's manual handy for reference.
