you always offer to drive, because it's just weird to even sit in a regular car anymore

you don't mind sitting at a red light nearly as much as you used to

there's an excessive heat advisory and you're still trying not to use the AC

you're embarrassed to say your current mpg average is only 48 mpg

you're used to comments like "hey is your car still on?" and "wow that sounds different" and just laugh

you are very close to your prius tech... ok maybe that's just me ;) (the senior posters might recall this)

when driving someone else's car, you keep trying to start the car without putting the key in the ignition

there's always something else you'd like to add to your car

you forget some integral part of the refueling procedure every damn time

    And (SKS users):

You walk up to a car and pull on the handle to enter. :)

You cringe when someone else drives your car and ruins your MPG.

You've got something hiding in your "stash" ... you know what I mean ...

You can parallel park perfectly at night using your rear camera.

You squint to read the dashboard spedometers on other cars.

Road rage returns when driving nonhybrids. (or is that just me?)

You refuse to use cruise control on long stretches of road (on top of no A/C, etc.).

Your friends always ask you to drive . . . because you get the best milage.

Grrrrrr! Kind of puts a crimp in the “I'm saving money†rationale. <_<

You watch the gallons and not the price when filling up.

You can sell the new sales associate at your favorite dealer on the Prius.

You've influenced 2 family members, 2 co-workers, 4 friends, and your local town hall to buy a Prius.

You and your wife have battles while driving anywhere to see who can spot other Prii first. "Prius! Ha, that makes 4 for me and 2 for you!"

You don't get overly upset when gas prices are increased from 132 yen per liter to 140 yen per liter. (that's over $5.00 per gallon, by the way)

We're talking about the car, right?

Teresa, on Tuesday (Chicago recorded high temp 98ºF) my wife was going through the laundry and asked why my undershirt was so wet. I said it's hot outside. I could tell that she was about to say something about A/C but she stopped and just said "uh huh."

    Yeah, I like that.
Here's one that happened to me today - I got annoyed that my bicycle doesn't have regenerative braking... yeah, I know, then it'd also need electric assist and that associated weight...but still, I pedaled it up to 16 mph, then coasted down a hill only to stop at a stop sign at the base of the hill. And I'm not going to be one of those bikers who disregard all road rules.

Driving SO nuts because of how much time you spend looking at mfd just to check averages and arrows...(Whereas, SO gets even by occasionally using his knee to steer HIS car so he can look at a map... )

Well nerfer and galaxee...these two seem somewhat connected...I seem to remember stories about ATTEMPTED relations in bugs...but we all know just how close galaxee and her tech really are. B) I'm still looking for one who'll give me a similar deal, but SO isn't too thrilled at the prospect... ;)

AND...You REALLY know you are a Prius Driver when you check PriusChat BEFORE reading the newspaper in the morning, because you know that all the news that you need will be here, and more recent!

You have influenced your mother in law to get one.

You have two hybrids, and the newer one is the 'gas guzzler' since it's a HyCam.

You get used to having hands free commands.

You reach for the power button on non hybrids.

You stop pumping the gas when it first clicks off.

You go in to pay for the gas, and the attendant has this look of disgust on his face.

You get questioned all the time about the MPG, and where do you plug it in, so much, that you feel like you should just hand out a sheet with all the info, and the location of the local Toyota dealer.

You know more about the car then the local dealer.

    -You average $26 a fillup (Cdn$)
-You've paid $770 (Cdn$) in gas for all of 2005...

You get mad at drivers that cut you off ... not because they cut you off, but because now you have to waste gas coming back up to speed.

Yeah- having to slow down unexpectedly is as bad as having to speed up unexpectedly.

You get out of the car and look back at it and the word "Prius" is on it. (Sorry, I'm being a bit literal today...)

You take your fellow geeks out to look at the new Prius, and everyone spends a majority of their time making faces in the backup camera.
