Well, I am very embarrassed. I thought I got a decent deal on an EGR valve, cooler, and pipe assembly for my 2010 Prius. But... I was misled by ebay. What I got was a decent deal on an EGR valve, cooler, and pipe assembly for a Prius C.

Does anyone have an equivalent assembly for the 2010 Prius that they'd be willing to trade?

Just throw in the towel, and clean what you've got? The pipe and valve are trivial to clean, the cooler takes about 8 hours, with repeated oxi-clean soaks.

It's that 8 hour bit I'm trying to avoid having to do while the car is in pieces.

The big plus: you know you've got the right parts. Price is right too.

Go to your nearest car wash and use a pressure washer. Cleaned mine up in under 30 minutes.

That's astounding. My only concern though: the fins in there are thin gauge, basically radiator material. Maybe ok, but I'd hate to find out too late. Regular radiator fins are aluminum I think? And this appears to be stainless steel, so maybe strong enough to take the blast?

Slow but sure with Oxi-Clean works too. Will require a day's down time, coupled with all the grief of getting it out and back together. Took me two days, lol, but I was in no rush, and it was not imperative to have the car available.

Contact the seller and he may have the one you need and exchange it. It's worth asking.

It seems like there is a cottage industry just waiting for someone to do an exchange service with these parts. You send me your clogged ones, I send you clean ones. Who needs the money and has the time?

It gives you an idea of what the overall condition of the system is in;).

If you’ve not done this by 200 k miles, I’d suggest getting the egr circuit cleanse on your short list of to do’s (y).

You’re welcome to it if you want to work for it;).

Or you can drive down south and shell out some $$$.

Pressure washer will be my next tact on Sunday (y).

No loss, just post it on the sell section on the forum so an owner of a Prius C can put it to use to prolong ownership of their C.
