    I everyone,

I truly need your help, I have a 2005 Prius with 210,000 miles and I need to replace the Hybrid battery pack, my question is Where can I go and buy this battery making sure that I'm not gonna get rip off by so many scammers on the internet? Has anybody replaced the main battery to their Prius? I really appreciate your suggestions, Thank you ahead of time. Take care.

    welcome!
best place is the toyota dealer, shop around for best price. check luscious garage in san fran, i think they install new. don't go for one of those so called remanufactured batteries, they have burned many people. only new will do.
    all the best!(y)

    Welcome to Prius Chat (y).

Sounds like your 2005 has had a good run;).

    Some questions:
    • How much longer do you want to keep your 2005 on the road?
    • Have there been any major repairs in your Prius ‘s past?
    • Would you be able (or have someone able) to swap Gen3 or gen4 modules I to your 2005?
There are 2 or 3 salvage yards off of recycle road in Rancho Cordova, and I bet they have some Gen3 or specific gen4 packs available. All you would have to do would be to swap the modules into your case:).

    Just one option ;).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

Solid advice (as usual) from bisco. I've been hanging around here for the year since I got my elderly, high mileage 2004, and looking at all the comments about battery replacements. The opinion I have formed is that most cheap replacement batteries are like buying the cheap, lifetime warranty starters and alternators from the auto parts chains, they work, but you have to keep using the warranty every year and change them over and over again, cheaper initially, but a royal PAIN.
