Anyone install any sound deadening material on prius to reduce road noise? I'm looking to try this to reduce the road noise especially during highway driving. Anyone done this before? If so how was your experience?

I dont have prius but i did my Auris doors. I added images here, you can find then from my profile.

I was not waiting anything special, but happily suprised how much doors alone redused noise what studded winter tires make.
But, i think that roof, doors and trunk should be done to make car really more silent.. Then you start hearing all kind a ratling what dash etc makes and then take everything part again:)

Yes, covered as much as I could except the roof. But like to add some to that. These cars are tin cans. Gutted the interior and went to town. Probably added 30lbs but made a big difference.

Yes … as Bisco said there have been quite a few that have done it myself including with very positive results. Search is your friend. I used Dynamat on Ema.

Lot of a vinyl based stuff from Parts Express. Cheaper and lighter. But area's I wanted to make a big difference was Dynamat extreme. Doors and back corners sound solid. Have a custom sub in the corner and pricy speakers in the front doors. So wanted for better audio as well.

I covered the entire trunk area it really helped quiet the total sound. Very quiet back there now. Got it off ebay it was cheap peel and stick. Anything beats bare metal. Got alot of towels in the hatch cargo holder above the spare tire.

But if I wanted to take the door panels off I would move up to Dynamat. The door panels come off pretty easy.
Dynamat in the doors would help more than anything. Just the clear plastic under the door panel helps alot. I had car installers replace the door speakers and they left that plastic sheet off the drivers door and now it goes clang when i shut the door. Haven't had the time to take it back. So just that thin clear plastic sheet helps.

But Dynamat in the doors would be awesome.

The holes from the outter door to the inner door closed off with dynamat really help. Plastic helped imagine dynamat.
Nice covering in the back btw.

Looks like Partsexpress doesn't carry the vinyl based stuff anymore. But price is good for this stuff they carry. Screenshot_20180617-072839.jpeg
