Am I the only one dismayed about the design of the car charging door?

I have buyers remorse for jumping into a purchase thinking that the best deals would be gone if I didn’t jump on a leftover 2017 Prime.
The whole experience was a nightmare, unlike my purchase of my first Gen2 Prius!!!
Unfortunately that first Gen 2 dealership was in Vt just over the state line; not in NYS and I thought I’d get a better deal with a dealer in NY as we live here and would qualify for the additional discount.
I seem to Live and learn the hard way though.
Pushed into quick sale at the local dealership as the ny dealers weren’t discounting them other than toyota corporate deal and the state dealership incentive... and never got the actual paperwork for what we paid! (Other than the monthly amount from my credit union for the amount of the loan.)
Then finding out that the safety sense package wasn’t the full wrap around package plus that I can’t start it remotely with the app, topped off by that charging port design which seems not so well thought out imho....

This is more on the line of what I would have expected and personally feel is a better option for those of us in wet climates the majority of the year, especially when I like to keep my vehicles for 10 or more, years and plan on 225k miles from Toyota’s....

I just wish the charge cover wasn't plastic. It feels cheap and flimsy compared to the metal gas door.

Plastic and metal reacts differently with electricity
