I was getting about 32-35 in the spring with no AC. Now that it's summer (85-95°) I get 29 miles pretty consistently.

    That’s an unreal range. Lol.

I'm able to get anywhere from 28-34 EV only miles (real world) out of my Prime.

Bunch of hills and backroads of KY by horse farms. Typically driving 45-55mph depending on which way I'm going on the hill.

Gotta play around with pulse and gliding to see how to benefit the most.

WARNING: Not really all EV. But around 35 miles of it was :)

Pulse and Glide won't benefit you with EV driving***. To maximize your EV miles, try to minimize accelerator pedal usage where you can -- "drive like there's an egg between your foot and the accelerator pedal", and slow down gently towards stop signs or red lights where it is safe to do so.

    --

***Pulse and Glide is meant to take advantage of making your *gas* driving more efficient - it's awesome when driving a "regular" hybrid (like a standard non-plug-in Prius, especially Gen 2 and Gen 3****) -- it lets you accelerate using the gas engine at higher revs (closer to the sweet spot of the gas engine at its most efficient load), then glide using very gentle acceleration in EV mode until you get back down to your minimum speed.

****In the Gen 4 regular Prius (and the Prime in HV mode), some of the techniques (and some of the benefit) of pulse and glide are automatically performed by the car's computer control system :)

Yes, pressing the accelerator pedal really eats up the ev mileage. For me what’s frustrating is you can gan a bunch of regen ev miles going downhill, only to lose it once you press down the the go pedal. Alas it is what it is. And by bunch I’m talking in tenths of a mile increments. Lol.

I’m in Minnesota. I get in the 38-40 range in this weather - I have a flat, low speed commute. This past winter, it fell to mid-high 20s, and the ICE kicked in a lot; we had a brutal winter. Still, I bought my last tank of gas in December and still have a third of it left.

Right now here in North Carolina, I get 28 miles EV with a 14 mile commute one way--5 miles backroads, and 9 miles interstate @75 mph. When it's mild and no A/C, bump it up to 30 EV. I talked my landlord into adding an outdoor 110 plug at my parking spot so I charge at work--so when I get home I have about 14 miles EV remaining. I love this car!

While I typically wouldn't argue against your point because I realize it makes sense logically speaking but my results say otherwise.

My commute is extremely hilly (back roads of horse country) and there's a sweet spot when you press the accelerator just a bit more coming down a hill to maintain your speed going up the next one, etc.

If I don't do so, my ICE kicks on ~3-4 miles from home. If I do (perhaps what I'm doing isn't what most people refer to as pulse and glide?), I can easily make it to work and back with anywhere from 1-3 miles left in EV Mode.

What you're saying is true, and doesn't contradict what I'm saying. You're driving under a more consistent load (some hypermilers call it "DWL"), which will lead to higher mileage in any Prius (hybrid or Prime).

As you know, the Prius automatically does some regenerative braking when one's foot is totally off the accelerator pedal when going downhill (this is done to keep the same "driving feel" as a gasoline-only car with an automatic transmission)

To maximize mileage when going downhill, it's most efficient to be pushing the accelerator pedal (at least) enough so that the Hybrid System Indicator is showing that the car is not doing any regenerative braking (it's out of the CHG zone), so long as you can do so safely. That way, all of your energy from the downhill is going to help push you up the hill, and it's not subject to the conversion losses that someone who had their foot totally off the pedal would have (in other words, turning that energy (through regenerative braking) into stored battery energy, then back into electric power to help your car go uphill... without as much helpful momentum thanks to that braking!)
