I drove a matrix and didn’t like the feel of it. The visibility was really bad and it just wasn’t my vibe, pun intended. Also, the gas mileage is rather dismal compared to the fit.The fit might be the best fit for us. :) But I am going to see that Prius C this morning that only has 35k.

Ok guys, thanks for all the amazing advice! I've decided on the 2013 (purchased new in 2014) White Prius C. It's got 35k, an extended warranty on it that she bought from Toyota, IMMACULATE. Practically smells new. barely broken in. the undercarriage doesn't even look used hardly. I called the dealership where she purchased it new and she's been religious about her maintenance appointments. :)
Only one bummer is she let it sit for 6 weeks once when away in Tennessee. (It started right up when she returned though.). She's retiring from CA state job and it was her commuter car. She had 2 cars, one truck, a motorcycle and a quad. Just sold the cycle and quad and now selling her commuter car. ;) She's ex-military and it shows in how meticulous she's been w the car.

She paid off the loan a few weeks ago and as soon as the title comes in the mail we will do the deal! She's letting it go for 10k (was asking 11,500). I'm gonna pay $150 a month to the family member who loaned the money.

    congrats!

my car sits for 6-8 weeks every winter, it's not an issue if it has a good 12v.

    all the best!(y)

Any downside to letting it sit will just be the 12 volt battery. Keep an eye on it and all should be well.

(How much do the lights brighten when turned on, how fast do the windows go up and down in Acc compared to Ready)

You can get a sneak peek by checking the date on the 12 V battery sticker. Regardless of how the 12 V battery was treated I feel like you'll want to have it changed out if it's older than five years old (no real consensus on it but 12 V batteries should last 4-6 years).

    Congrats on your new friend.

Thanks! I’m so excited. The car is so nice and new. :) Now I just need to start putting aside a little bit of money for a repair friend but it’s so new that I don’t see anything coming up anytime soon. I’m going to clean the fan screen to for the hybrid battery going into summer because it can get pretty hot where I live and I don’t want that puppy to overheat!

Congrats. That sounds like a nice deal. And depending on your miles, your battery could be covered until ‘22.

You can call Toyota customer service and they’ll tell you about the extended warranty and verify that it’s transferable. Good luck.
