I didn't see that.. unless your talking about the bottom underneath the top removable tray.
Or the cup holders in the back outside of the console.

I think he's talking about where the manual goes.

The same thing just happened with my mother's Prius. Thanks to this forum, and all the suggestions, I rechecked the crevice between the driver's seat and the middle console, and it was there, near the front. This is after having cleaned out & thoroughly searched the car. So, my advice for people in a similar jam is to reach deep into that crevice even though they've already checked & rechecked.

I have the same problem. My SKS is inside the car most likely inside the dashboard. I spend 4 hours looking for it I couldn’t find it. I’m using the 2nd SKS to lock and unlock the car.

when you say your SKS is most likely inside the dashboard, do you mean the other fob?

So to prove it’s actually in the car you can make the car ready without th3 other fob in the car?

As far as losing things in the seat crevices they sell this really cheap little black plastic super slim boxes that fit between the seats. They work great they catch all the dirt and dust that falls in there plus any credit cards or change or keys or fob.
Keeps the crevice very clean. You just pull them out and empty them. I use them in all my cars.

Amazon there called car catch caddy. Work great. There stiff plastic. I see they sell fancy leather ones too but the plastic is probably better as it keeps it shape so it’s very 5ight in the crevice catches everything. Used them in all my cars for years, no more change under the seat or filthy crevice!

So late last night I was in my parking lot with 2 screaming kids for 3 hours. I completely emptied my car of all items and debris from having two small children. In an apartment complex, at midnight, while the kids wet from the splash pad cried. I drove to the fire department to use their flashlights and two firefighters helped me look. My dad came and he berated for me being drunk, which I was not. He looked. The maintenance man came and let me into my apartment which I was locked out of due to my keys being in my car somewhere. He patted down all the upholstery. I usually drop them between the seat gap so I started pulling the upholstery off of the center console and around the under seat vent. I was on this thread at 3 am unable to sleep because I was worried about my car being stolen. I wanted to come back and post where they were found.
So it may seem obvious to most of you after of all that searching that I would have looked in the pull out cup holder of the center console, but apparently did not.

Try looking in the crack between the upper and lower portion of the seat. The way the seat is set up makes it extremely easy for things to get trapped there. Lean the seats all the way back and dig around forcefully to ensure you get through all the cracks. Check both passenger and driver door. Also, remove the back seat's bottom portion completely.

Another place to try is on the side of the seat, where that black railing gets close to the center console. It's very easy for something to get jammed in there, and I've had my own FOB sneak in there a few times.

Lastly, check underneat the seat. There's an air vent thing, and there's a cut in the interior carpet that the FOB could have crawled into. Lift it up and feel around.

PS: quadruple check parts of the car that your body interacts with consistently, if that makes sense. This is to avoid the FOB being somewhere that your foot sweeps over and potentially puts it outside the vehicle. Always do a check before you leave to ensure that the FOB is still in the car.

PPS: have you tried driving the car to different places and starting/stopping it away from where you normally park it, to ensure that the FOB might not be outside the vehicle in a place like under some carpet or whatever in your garage/where you normally store it?

I lost my key in the car (still started while keys missing.) While in drivers seat reading this thread I suddenly realized there's a big gap between the steering wheel and dash. Just a thin cloth material to hide it.

I had my keys on the dash and heard them slide down loudly. I didn't realize they hit the steering column and slid straight forward. Emptied out car, flashlights under the seats...

Feeling inside the steering column, scraping my hands, there they were. A smaller second item fell in the same place, I can't see or reach it.

I was going to go buy a "club" to lock the steering wheel while my car was in "ready-to-drive" mode. Still might, crooks can "hack" these remote locks.
