Just buy a new wire frame.
    Seriously.
Skip the crappy cleaning of buss bars. It is a temporary solution.

Tony....well done on finding the problem. Probably only marginally cheaper than having the dealership install 2 new ecus. Looks like there's a bit of heat damage to the plastic at the top of the terminal stud where it seals. Doesn't look like there's any leakage issues though. That module may end up being just fine, but worth keeping a eye on it. You can order a totally new wire harness, (Wire Frame #2 I believe) part #82165-47040 for about 60 bucks delivered to your door. I get mine through Genuine Parts Giant (Toyotapartsdeal.com). It will give the best peace of mind. Then you can use it over again if you update the battery. Once those sensor tabs get bent, they are very sketchy as to how long they'll last. Many times they'll get microcracks right above where the wire is crimped and then you're right back where you started.

The bus bars on the other side of the battery are easy to reuse, as they pop right out and can be cleaned/polished as much as you'd like. You'd have to try pretty hard to wreck those.

The heavy orange cables (long one, short one, and the safety disconnect with cables) for about $50 total, give or take a bit.

And.....if you want to hold off on a new one and plan to just replace the old tab, let me know. I have a sensor harness from a 2015 that I had used as a spare parts source to replace a tab or two. I can easily remove one and clip it several inches down the wire to give you plenty of room to splice/solder it into your harness. I'd have no problem tossing it in a padded envelope and sending it your way.

Some times those computers needs to be recalibrated if you swap them out for another one esp if its from 2004-2007 model. You need a legit copy of techstream and a TIS subscription to the Toyota techinfo website to gain acess to those calibration firmware updates.

I found a new wire sensing harness on ebay for $80 - thought it would be better than trying to solder a new wire on - and the headache. Plus - I will have a spare for the future. Thanks for all your suggestions - I will update you after the install.

If the connector is bad you can by a new wireframe from Toyota. Or get a used one from eBay.
