Got my Prius PHV Wrapped!

    Hello my fellow Pirus owners!

    I've been holding back this secret for a few weeks now. (I've been spotted by a few :oops:) My prius went through a massive overhaul!

    Big big plans still coming.. but lets talk about the wrap! (y)
    First I would like to thank my sponosor Sync Wraps (Santa Ana, CA) and Avery for making this all happen.

    The wrap of choice was "Avery- Gloss Rushing Riptide"
    It was an entire week of this process and i've got to see it all! To the teardown of the entire car to the finish.
    I thought the Prius would be hard to take apart but Sync Wraps was able to get it all taken off in literally a couple hours, they knew how to take it all apart.. they are the experts for a reason :ROFLMAO:
    The Radars and sensors really didnt cause any issue with teardown and putting together. No check engine light or any failures (y)

    Let me tell you about the quality of work! It came out soo perfect with all these agressive bends and curves. It literally looks like paint! I can't even see any inperfections in this wrap. Before you critics point out...I know you can still see some white in these pictures like the door jams...BUT I'm getting door jams wrapped and all the inners! Ill post update pictutes (I really just wanted to drive it and was inpatient to have it in the shop for another week to get it fully done :whistle:)

    BTW My car is at Sync Wraps from Thursday- Friday 10am-5pm for those wanting to see it in person.

    **** NOTE ****
    For pricing it depends on your color and how much coverage you want! I would suggest you call Sync Wraps and ask for Jerry. Just remember.. Good work aint cheap. and cheap work aint good! Don't cheap out on your 30k+ Investment for $500 extra for quality work (y) For the priviacy of Sync Wraps and Avery I cannot disclouse my price :whistle::whistle::whistle:

    Did they say how much that would cost? That color on the prime? Heck I would almost be willing to drive to get that.

    Nice wrap! I want to get my Leaf wrapped but all the shops around me want $6k to $8k. I guess I will have to wait until I have the time to do it myself.

    6-8k! It shouldn't cost more than 3k from what i had read online. How much did this cost you OP?

    $3k would be a flat wrap. Gloss up to chrome cost much more. Much easier to see the defects.

    $5000 for a wrap? Why not just paint at MAACO. $299. Lol

    Seriously though, that's a lot of dough for a $25000 car

    Paint is perminate and wrap is temp and last 5-7 years and MAACO is known for doing hack jobs :eek::ROFLMAO:

    Yes indeed. A good wrap says you take care of the car. A poor to good paint job says you got into such a bad accident that the car needed repainting.

    The higher quality chrome wrap material is about 3x the raw cost from what I've seen around town and at SEMA and stuff. And in my limited application experience about that much harder to apply. Harder to hide imperfections. A lot of the fly by the night type shops won't even touch it. Oh well.

    My Leaf is silver so I have also been toying with get a 4-stage paint job like the Porsche blue which need metallic silver and a clear then the blue and another clear. I'm half done already!

    Is that a 3M product on your car?

    Ooh yeah well the wrap color does count into pricing too! Like brushes and chrome.. yeah a lot more than a simple basic gloss color.

    Oooh that’s gonna look awesome! Mind showing me some pics?

    Haven't done it yet. Still deciding on whether to paint or wrap it.

    The blue chrome wrap is like this:

    And then the Lexus (not Porsche, my bad) paint is their Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 paint job which is 4 stages. Silver metallic base, clear coat. Then the blue mica metallic ontop of that clear coat and then another clear coat. Looks like:

    Since my car is already silver metallic with a clear coat, the 4-stage paint job might not be as bad as it would be otherwise.
