You're going to need to get a new battery (not rebuilt/refurb) to last 10 years; especially if it will sit for days at a time not driven. BTDT

We have a 2015. Suggest the 4 cyl unless you really need to tow heavy and far otherwise the 4 can tow too and, for sure, get the eyesight option.

Can't speak for the OP but it's really good in the rain and we also use it on the beach and rural unpaved roads.

    What’s your budget this round?

RAV4 is a nice choice but if you can club up some, a Lexus is VERY nice;).

We have a RX450h as her car and she is happy:).

    Happy wife, happy life(y).

Well let me play internet psychologist and say, that unless you have a duplicate query in a Honda Odyssey forum, posing this question in Prius Chat would lead me to believe the decision for yourself isn't really too hard. You obviously want to keep the Prius.

And if you accept that Hybrid Battery replacement may be on the horizon, and can live with that reality, then keeping the Prius is a perfectly viable, legitimate decision to make.
I think I would keep the Prius.

But really, trying to predict what may be on the horizon for either vehicle is really impossible. Sometimes there is a "One Horse Shay" aspect to mechanical vehicles. That is...they will work until they don't work anymore.

So to me, you can throw everything out given those two vehicles, IMO...there is no clear winner, so I'd go with what vehicle you WANT to keep the most. And I think it's the Prius. So keep it.

Nicely noticed, Lieutenant Colombo! I live in the temperate Charlotte area but my daughter is headed to college in the blue ridge mountains. Friends who sent their kids there talked about how they wished they had AWD. They also went to Syracuse so know how to drive in snow.

I love the Oliver Wendell Holmes reference!

You got it in one, I want to keep the Prius. The subject line could have read:

“I own two cars which have served me well but the time has come to sell/donate/junk one of them and while I want to keep my Prius I’d like confirmation that I’m not missing something so I would appreciate any help that you could give me as I choose which car to retire.”

I’ve never owned a car past 125,000 miles, nor have I owned any Prius. I also don’t know anyone who owns a Prius but I do know that one of the 3 rules for living is that there’s no such thing as a sure thing. I’m greatful for any thoughts shared by the guys here who are kind enough to donate time to me as I build a case to assure my wife that we’re doing the smart thing. (did I say that?)

So i’ll Dump the Ody, plan to buy a battery, and buy a _____.
