    1. If I buy a 2017 model (new car) in 2018, do I still get tax incentives from both Fed and State?

    2. Is it advisable to buy a 2017 model in 2018 considering the car has been sitting on the lot for about 7 months without being charged?

    3. Is 2k price difference in between 2017 and 2018 model enough to justify the depreciation?

If anyone of you could please help me with this, that will be awesome. Thanks.[/QUOTE]

    1. Yes, 2017 qualify too as long as its new car from dealer. (Make sure they are selling you one without lot of miles on odo. Mine had 29. My last CRV, I strongly insisted that be a car pulled right off the truck, and it had 6 miles).
    2. Shouldn't matter in PNW at least. If its been baking in sun in AZ, thats a different story.
    3. 2k difference seems about aright. THats the difference between 2018 Toyota Rebates vs the 2017. So, Dealer is not taking the hit for an older model, Toyota is. You could ask for another 500 to 1000 from dealer side citing depreciation concerns. But at 27, you are closing in on Premium for an Advanced.

Finally bought 2017 prime advanced in Blizzard pearl color. Car had 9 miles on it. Test drove and loved it. I used to have Prius plug-in 2014 which was very under powered. I had gotten into a lot of safety issues with that car. Traded that in last year and bought 2017 outback 3.6R. Prime is just incredible.

    MSRP: 34,638
Price paid before TTL: 28,038 (Vancouver Toyota in WA)
    No dealer doc fee
2003 toyota corolla trade in: 2,000
Price paid OTD: 26,965 including 4 year registration in OR (including 0.5% sales tax and title fees)

Bought 10 year/100k mile Platinum warranty (from Toyota and not third party) for 1845. Didnt need it but wife wouldnt allow buying without warranty. Planning to cancel it after 5 years. I know I lose 900$. Anyway, my experience with Toyota has been awesome so I dont mind.

3.24% APR on Car Financing with 0$ down payment.

Overall 3k rebate and 3.6k dealer discount. I feel it is a good deal specially with trade in as the corolla was in just ok shape I think. I was not able to get anything beyond 1000 for it.

Thank you all for keeping this community informative and fun. Love my prius prime. Now just need to convince my wife to drive my 2017 Outback 3.6R ;) So I can enjoy this wonderful car. I hate going to a gas station.

If it makes you feel any better, I like my Prime a whole lot more than my otherwise flawless 2016 Audi Q5 3.0T, to the point where my Audi's been sitting in the garage collecting dust. In fact, my Prime has just replaced the Audi for the prime parking space in the garage.

There is something to be said for an expertly designed tool, like the Prime, that does its intended job just so well.

    Hi all,

I'm in the market for a Prius Prime. I'm living in Houston where there are no deals and maybe one or two on each dealership's lot. I came across this chatroom and it's amazing! I wouldn't mind flying up to the northeast to purchase and am looking to buy in the next couple months (lease is up in Oct).

My question is where people who are buying from out of state are searching inventory? Is it just the Toyota website the most helpful/accurate? If so, is there a way to set a larger search radius since 100 more miles doesn't matter if I'm driving all the way back to Texas anyway? Or does everyone just go from city to city?

I've noted some dealerships mentioned on this thread, but was going to do a lot of searches and chat with the online teams come Labor Day (hopefully there are some 2017s left then).

    Thanks for any tips!

Does anyone know if there are still a good selection of 17 Prime Advanced in the NorthEast? Where are the latest incentives posted for July?

Last I checked the best deal was around 26k plus TTL for a 17 Prime Advanced in RI, those are all sold out now though.

Seems like a good deal, which dealer in NY? The only better deal I found was 26K in RI but they sold out of 17 primes.

Yikes! I can no longer find any cash back or financing offer for 2017 models on the Toyota site for many of our favorite states.

Hopefully website is still to be updated on that but if this is indeed the end of the 2017 promos, I wonder how dealers handle getting rid of those remaining '17 Advance models on their lot.

Curious as well, which site are you checking for regional incentives/offers?

I am in the middle of looking for a 2018 Plus..... I have a price of 24,715..... that is with a rebate.

That sounds pretty good for a plus... Then I get a $4300 tax benefit from the gov....

to me that sounds good....I know that many on this forum have purchased the advanced or premium, but I prefer the plus and cloth seats and more basic interior. Thoughts? Good price based upon your advanced knowledge?jim

Is there a package in the USA that already has the 'towing pkg' installed or is that extra from the Dealer?
    Thank you,

All the 2017 rebates expired close of business Monday July 9th. That said, I'd be floored for toyota to not release another; right now the 2018 has a rebate of ~$1500; why would someone buy a 2017 without a rebate when the 2018 is now cheaper. Hopefully the rebate is the same as before or better, I think I'm ready to pull the trigger now.

I'd rather pick up a 17 if they brought back the 4k rebate.
