So it sounds like you drove the bare-bones hybrid. My impression is that the SEL with the tech package is the hybrid to get if you're not looking plug-in or BEV. what you drove is like the Prius 1; basically designed for cheap fleet operators.

Could be....the only ones they had on their lot in Turnersville... not far from you. From what I understand the basic Hybrid from Hyundai is more akin to the Prius Eco model (never seen it). If you want strictly a hybrid, the price of the Hyundai is attractive for sure. That is what brought my wife in. But the quality just wasn't there compared to the Prius of any caliber.

Someone who used to be active on this board bought the model I'm talking about at Burns Hyundai near Cherry Hill. Although my experience with Burns salesmen has been terrible over the years, the person who was on the board seemed satisfied. You might want to try there; the selection might be bigger.

If it's not, that's a real sign that Hyundai is walking away from the Ioniq, because the base model does not have many of the attractive features of the higher models.

Just checked....they do have a plug-in Iconic at Burns. Will let me wife know. But she was pretty turned off by what she say before so not sure if mentioning it will spice up her interest. She does like the Kia Niro,....hybrid or Plugin

she does know they are the same floor pan and drive train?

here in the UK the niro has less standard kit and £2000 more expensive than the ioniq

The Ioniq PHEV's battery is the sme size as the Prime's, so it should charge in about the same time.

The Blue is really just the base trim on other Hyundai models. It got a different name because it has a better fuel economy rating than the rest of the line up.

if you are looking at the "blue drive" badge on the front wings, that is just Hyundai's eco tech badge, it is on a number of models including some diesels with stop / start tech

it is a bit confusing that badge

With thanks to @Trollbait I suspect the Blue is just an American nomenclature thang not recognised on this side of the pond.

the Ioniq Blue is the base model in the US like the SE in the UK, but the blue drive badge then confuses that as well
