    Hello!

I'm going to modify the trunk of the Prius to allow me to store a basketball in the "cubby" section without it moving around.

I know I could easily buy a cargo net and put items in that, however I'm choosing to utilize that small amount of "cubby" space without having to buy a cargo net.

My idea so far, picture below, is to use a bungee cord attached to the existing metal d-ring at the bottom and then connect that to a separate snap in d-ring I install onto the plastic trim up above.

    Anyone have any other suggestions?

    Thank you

A cargo net is MUCH more versatile, allowing you to secure things that will not fit into the little cubby.

But no reason that you can't do both.

I agree, the net has multi-purpose uses.

I created a different mechanism back when I created this post, but never got around to sharing it here. It's worked well. I'll post pictures soon.

It's basically: paracord, carabiner and two specific knots.
