    2007 Prius base, package #3.
    146,000 miles (I purchased at 126,000).
The vehicle has spent its entire life in cool Minnesota.

I tried to start the other day and the dash lit up with all the lights and the dreaded red triangle of death. I have an OBD II reader and the torque app and these are the faults it pulled.

P0A4C: Unknown code - More information may be available on the web

I also checked the 12v battery and it was sitting at 11 volts. My wife moved the car the other day and could have possibly left the ignition on by accident, no way to know, might be a red herring too.

I charged the 12v battery overnight and had it load checked at the auto parts store. It came back as "good". I put the battery back in and still no changes. I have tried multiple times clearing the faults with my reader but they keep coming back.

Should I quite checking the 12v side and start to look into the codes?

Not all code readers are hybrid compatible, which device are you using to check/harvest the DTCs and INFs (sub codes)?

I am using the Scantool OBDLink LX bluetooth. I really have no idea on its capability of reading sub codes, I am guessing it has none. What type of tool is recommended?

double check the 12v resting, auto parts stores are not always right. since it was likely the problem, it is likely the problem.

I just now checked again and the battery voltage is sitting at 12.51 volts measured across the battery with the vehicle OFF.

    SOLVED!
I got the car in the garage (towed by with my lawn mower of course) and up on jack-stands to get a look below. Sure enough the wire were nibbled on by a rodent!!!! The car is parked outside BTW. Crazy, this was the first thing my wife suggested but I did not look into it. Now I just need to fix this.

That adapter should work fine (though not for use with techstream), it might even poll much faster than the cheaper adapters.
