Hold your horses. Stop the presses. I had the same issue with my Treo 650 which now works perfectly with my '06 #7. My carrier is Verizon Wireless. The trick is make a call after you go through the initial sync steps. That is what did it for me. I kept following instructions and kept getting NOWHERE - very FUSTRATING. Making a call was all it took and now it syncs everytime I turn the car on. Bluetooth is GREAT :D

The Verizon Treo 700 works fine for me on my 2006. I have not tried to move/copy phone book entries. The dash indicator for signal strength & Battery don't work with it.

I have an LG8100 with Verizon.
Setup was very easy and it works fine.

My ONLY complaint is that you cannot download the phone book. I had to call LG to find this out. Some one told me about howards forums where you can find out secrets about your phones- haven't had a chance to explore this yet.
My solution: have my most important contacts call while I am in the car and then save the number.

I've been trying to get my phone book over to the Prius with no luck--it keeps dropping the connection (like it did with my V600). I'm gonna try the powersave suggestion, but if that doesn't work can someone give me a play by play of dumping my phonebook into the Prius?

Well the powersave seemed to keep the dropping at bay, but I've noticed that the phone doesn't show up as part of the phone list. Does that mean that it's not supported by Toyota?

Regarding the phone book...do I have to push the phone book data to the Prius? When I try to go through the Prius to import entries, it just breaks the BT connection.

Ok...the dropping is BACK. Can someone tell me what the deal is with the Prius/W600i relationship? If I can't figure this out, I'm gonna return this for something else--which sucks because I prefer the SE interface and software to Moto and other phones.

I recently purchased the new Motorola RAZR V3m from Verizon and had no problem linking the phone and the Prius. Connects every time I start the car but I have not had time to determine how to download the stored phone directory. Anyone else have the RAZR V3m from Verizon and what issues have you found with this new phone?

    Hey BellBoy,

This is probably too late for you, but I just transferred contacts from my w600i to the Prius, and yes what a hassle.

When I first bought the phone it was a snap, but for some reason this time around, ... OH MY!

I finally got it working, but ...
    1. even though the literature says 500 contacts I question that, I think it is 250 per phone book, don't really know, I put in 170, first attempt more like 350-450.
    2. it appears that the only way for me to get the transfer window to really function (cancel button enabled) was truly to have the engine running, which was no problme after 20 attempts and the battery down to the purple bars.
    3. True when you click 'transfer' the prius disconnects from the phone, but once the 'cancel' button is enabled in the transfer window, and you go to the "Send All" feature on the w600i the bluetooth connection is reestablished.

I checked just now and it wasn't a glitch the contacts are still there, woohoo!

I have Verizon RAZR V3c and it is not possible to transfer phonebook data, even one at a time with this phone. Everything else works great, but I wish that I could use the phone's built-in voice recognition, but the car's voice command overrides that.

Here's a handy PDF from verizon that tells you what features work. Look for the "Toyota" row near the bottom: http://support.vzw.com/pdf/Motorola_carkit_RAZR_V3m.pdf

As you can see, PB Transfer status is "no**"... I only wish they'd tell us what the "**" means but it's not in the legend at bottom.

The ** means that technically the feature works on the phone but Verizon has disabled it so you will have to continue to pay to transfer pics, vidoes, etc.

Apparently you can do a seem edit and get the feature to work. That is called unlocking your phone. Search on Howardsforum.com and you should be able to find info on how to do this. I just bought an unlocked phone on ebay...I will let you know if it works when it gets here.

I have a Palm Treo 650 Cingular...no problems loading with the latest update and after being in the car for about a minute the bluetooth connection is made. Just make sure you turn off your earpiece or don't have a headset connected the phone will not ring in the car just on the handset if connected to either one of these.

Hey all. I use my Nokia 6230 and it works like a charm. I too had to enter one number at a time, but the phone and car recognize each other before I'm ready to move. I've had to be careful a few times because I've left my car "on" when I've gone into the Post Office, received a call, and had the car receive the signal!

Well, I think I have the answer to the 6682, this site says the 6682 works in the 2006 Lexus GS300, and this site suggests that Lexus Nav system for 2004 at least was the same as the 2004 Prius. The latter is an interesting site with links as to how bluetooth works in the Prius.

Just thought I'd let you all know that my Motorola E815 with Verizon service pairs great with my2006 Prius. I had no trouble pairing. It works great, when a call is coming in the radio cuts out and the car rings. Not my ringtone but a default generic type of ring. I have it set to auto answer and when the MFD shows "talking" I say hello and all is good.

Outgoing calls are great as well. I usually dial by name. I have added voice tags to my phonebook contacts and that works just fine. I have noticed when I do use dial by name, the recorded name that is repeated back to me is very weak but it hasn't seemed to cause any troubles. I have also used dial by number with success, too. The first time I used dial by number I spoke the number to slowly and the last digit was not picked up. I tried again and spoke the number like I would normally and it worked fine.

I have not had any trouble with call clarity. I did hear an echo yesterday but I think that was because the other person was on a speaker phone. She picked up the handset and the echo went away.

My only complaint is the phone book transfer which is non existant in Verizon phones. The capability is there in some phones but Verizon has disabled it. I did a seem edit to enable OBEX and can transfer ringtones and pics to and from my phone by way of a mini SD card, but the OPP is needed to transfer the phonebook to the Prius and no one has been able to find the seem for that...yet. ;)

All in all, if you have Verizon, I would recommend the E 815...but they just discontinued that phone so if you want one, you'll have to get one from Ebay, which is what I did.

For the life of me, I cannot get individual contacts to transfer to my Prius from my w600i.

I tried keeping the engine running, as you said, and it worked okay exactly once. But every time since that I try it, the w600i cannot find the Prius to make the transfer.

This is extremely frustrating, since the initial full-phonebook transfer did not pick up all my contacts, and since I need to add several individual new contacts to get them into the Prius phonebook for one-touch dialing.

The w600i works perfectly with my wife's BMW 325i, but it works only sporadically with my Prius.

I hate this, because the w600i is the best cell phone I've ever had.

I wonder whether I have software/firmware issues with my Prius? Is there any way to update this? Seems like Toyota just installed the capability in the car and then just left it there.

I just got a Sony Ericsson W300i from Cingular. It works with my 06 pkg#6 without any issue. Phone book transfers to Prius without any problem.
