Some of my window weather strips are either broken or have tons of cracks on them to a point where they will likely fall off sometime as and when the windows move up and down.

Any instructions on how to install them? and also, any suggestions on where to buy them?

What would be the downside of not replacing them? lose A/C efficiency? or maybe they won't keep rain from pouring in?

Ya I don't know that you want to run without them. Try this website as an example

2006 Toyota Prius Parts - Toyota Parts Superstore

If they are like any other ones that I have replaced you simply pull them up and out and press fit the new ones with the palm of your hand or soft mallet.

I just stumbled on this site trying to find a "how to" video on replacing the window lower weatherstripping on my 2011 Prius. The dealership is charging me $78 for the part and an additional $100 labor for one window! Needless to say since all four need to be replaced I was looking at the possibilities of a DIY. Were you able to find instructions? Was it as "easy" as some of the other posts say it is?

Your 2011 is a Gen 3 and there may be differences between it and the Gen 2, so it might be a good idea to ask your question over in the equivalent Gen 3 forum, 'Gen 3 Prius Care, Maintenance and Troubleshooting'.

Thanks for advice. I did my homework on You tube how to & priced parts on the net. Unfortunately already paid dealership $85 for driver's window. When I took car in for repair I opted to skip labor for another $100. I explained and I was taken to parts department where they were able to meet the web price for the others $35 each. They even suggested I use plastic pry tools so as not to scratch paint. I took my car home & did all four windows in about half an hour! Instead of $185 per window ($740) I easily completed for $225. I will double think any such repair from now on.
