Is it just my wifes car, or has anyone else noticed the rear glass pumping like a speaker, when playing music with loud thumping bass passages?

I wish ! Stereo sounds like something from the 80’s are you sure it’s not just your rear view mirror bouncing ?

Absolutely, yes it does. Partly, it's also the rear view mirror bouncing as well which makes it look like the rear glass bouncing.

I'm amazed that many try to evaluate the sound system from a crappy input like the radio, etc. Crap in = crap out. The default bass and treble settings seem to be one setting too low to sound right. The system sounds good if you take the time to 1. adjust the default bass and treble settings for each source, and 2. play good lossless music sources. All my music is from FLAC sources. Does it sound as good as my cavernous 4Runner, no. But if you'll adjust it, it sounds pretty good. To those that have to have a sub in every vehicle, it's never going to suit you, but that's not what were talking about here.

Keep in mind that the speaker is actually an air pump moving waves through the air to the diaphragm of our ear drums. The loud thumping bass speaker moves more air in stronger waves.

Could there be any chance of this loosening the seal around the back window? I don't know.
