    When was that article written? There's been several recalls and issues and technical service bulletins related to the 2016/2017.

    before those, apparently. looks like a toyota mia culpa for what is already known. is this a european thing? not sure about 2003-2009, n/a would be 2004-2009. or the piston rings from 2010-2015, someone posted a tsb for 2010-2014 today.

    Haven't red on here replacing their own prius piston rings.

    "Clogged Piston Rings: Toyota gave 2010-2015 Toyota Prii thinner piston rings and an updated piston design, both of which turned out to be not so effective. As a result, the Prii in this generation are prone to clogged piston rings, which leads to excessive oil consumption. Many Prius owners have found success by replacing the piston and piston rings."
