2008 Prius- We got a P1121 and P1116 Coolant flow Valve Position Sensor.

We replaced the coolant flow valve ( we had to drain the coolant from the Drain valve in the bottom driver side).

Now we are trying to fill it up using the reservior near the firewall on top of the engine, but nothing is going in. We pour the coolant in but it wont go anywhere. NOTE: about 3/4 gallon came out into a CLEAN container so we can reuse it.

You have to fill the radiator, you'll see the radiator cap once you remove the black cover in the front of the engine

The reservoir between the engine and inverter is for the inverter/transaxle.

As JC said, you need to remove the black plastic cover for access to the radiator cap.

ummmmmm...going to take a long time to fill up the engine coolant loop when you're adding coolant to the inverter reservoir........

The reservoir at the firewall is for the inverter coolant loop.

The reservoir at the radiator is for the engine coolant loop. The control valve is part of the engine coolant loop.

Depending on the level now, you may want to remove some of that coolant you added to ensure there's room for thermal expansion in the inverter loop.

You'll need to do it a few times, check the level every morning and fill until full
