I'm considering this Honda Super Cub "news," although there's actually not much new out on the EV-Cub Honda announced. In 2016 Honda estimated production of their EV-Cub would take more than 2 years, but during this time another option has appeared!

If you already own an older Honda Super Cub, Shanghai Customs produced a conversion kit that allows you to convert your own - a custom DIY EV Cub, for those comfortable being hands on.

They've been developing their Cub-inspired electric motorcycle for two years now. They offer the eCUB2 or the eCUB conversion kit, and are based in Shanghai.

    Here's the full article

Awesome! I expect the E-cub and its clones to eventually become the most common motor vehicles on the planet.

Given that they'll be replacing small carbureted engines, the positive impact of these bikes on air quality is likely to be greater than that of any other transportation evolution in history.

Wonder of much a classic Super Cub with a dead engine goes for?

I think it would greatly depend on the year.

I'm tempted to start checking Craigslist for an old model myself. Everything old is new again!

    I admire Honda minibikes.
Yet this new Cub, its frame backbone...I don't this that is very robust.
If taken off road, or wheelied or jumped...I personally see a bent frame
in this design's future for an owner.
    But what do I know?

I understand most are used for urban and urban-to-rural transit. Fair to good roads. Honda has sold over one hundred million Super Cubs, and they aren't easily retired. Honda is taking their time with the EV-Cub design because they expect to stamp out eleventy gazillion of them, and the fewer corrections and varieties they make, the lower the cost.
