After a day, no MFD codes -- good news. Perhaps a little evidence that the 12V battery was a little low at some point, previously.

The MFD is reporting ~12.6V after a 30 mile (stop start) run) without the traction battery connected in 'ready,'. Perhaps the 12V is not holding up too well. The traction battery is charging at the 14.xV in the 'ready' mode, which might suggest the 12V is on the low side. I'll take it for as long run at the weekend.

Interestingly, looking at the 12V battery supplied by a UK dealership, it looks at casual inspection like a regular unsealed lead acid battery rather than a gel mat. It has ports that would seem to indicate the ability to add deionized/distilled water. I did wonder how the dealer could supply a replacement at standard Toyota prices for less than an online price for a battery...

Buying power or a different product? I'll post a picture and product details soon.

If it is a regular battery (I paid £115 inc. fitting from the dealer), perhaps it is beginning to fail after 18 months use in a Gen 2 in a stop-start regular commute?

A thousand miles since the red triangle of death and all seems well. (Fingers crossed).
