My first post hi to all ..I Bought this prius a month ago looks extremely well cared for has new oil and hv battery former owner did lots of upkeep . I assumed former owner had cleaned the mass air flow sensor ..i Was wrong this was a mess black oil caked on original MAF sensor from 2004 and 129k miles never cleaned nor replaced OMG... The car was running OK other than the slight rough idle and my mpg meter was reading 42 over the last five tanks and month of driving.. Just installed a new denso oem sensor today ,its almost like I have a new car much better torque low end response ..i Would love to see 50 + average on my mpg display.. I will make an update in a few weeks with real numbers.

Top tip: if you want to save a few more bucks, look at the hazard data sheet(s) for the recommended (branded) cleaner and then use the generic equivalent (e.g. white spirit for the mass flow sensor or acetone for the throttle body).

maybe at one time the pcv or just 130k miles of los angeles air.

not a big deal there on ebay retail lexus toyota denso 21 dollars free shipping

i only have a overall 44 mpg ...No mechanical problems no oil leeks..... unless the air fuel ratio sensor is getting slow ..really Want to get this figured out I am a experienced ECO driver ... tires are good motor is good ,hv and 12v battery are good ..plugs Changed a 1000 miles ago with ik16 denso.
