I know the optima battery is pretty much the only 12v battery that meets OEM standards, but I also know some of you are running sealed deep cycle 12v batteries. Which ones are you running and would you recommend? What are your experiences?
Thank you.. I guess I should be clear on my intentions. My battery died and I'm in desperate need to have my car operational this weekend. I can't wait for shipping. I'm looking for something that autozone, Walmart or even Lowe's would carry that I could go pick up, like now. Even if it'll just be temporary. I can't afford the one at autozone at over $200.
well, you can use any old battery, like a lawn tractor or motorcycle battery. as long as you can tie it down, it will only be a problem if you get rear ended and it explodes, or the battery emits toxic fumes inside the cabin from overcharging or something.
Southern California is a large area to be able to pinpoint a local store. If there are NAPA Auto parts near you. https://www.napaonline.com/es/p/NBP9851P
Thank you! I live in the Temecula area and work in Orange county. There are Napa auto part stores, O'Reilly, autozone etc. I'll check those. Thanks again, I didn't want to spend money only to realize that I wasted money if it didn't work.
Check with Pep Boys. I know for third gen at least, they have a low priced, 100% compatible option, by Bosch. Addendum: see I'm about the 3rd or 4th responder with this hot tip...
Short sighted. By the time you pay $50 for a temporary fix.....and then $150 for a permanent one......guess what that adds up to ??
Amazon seems to think this is the correct battery, I have no reason to guess differently. www.amazon.com/dp/B000MS9VZK That is what i used, it wanted me to know if he had a XE hybrid or an XLE hybrid and I made up that part.
